Question EVO Front Camera Crashes Camera Application

I have been trying to get the Front facing camera to work but every time I open up the camera application and switch to "Front Facing Camera", the application turns black and I can't access the Front or Rear Cameras. I have to reboot to access either camera. I have tried hard resetting and updating and neither work. Is there an application on the market that I can use?

Thanks,
Ryan

Re: EVO Front Camera Crashes Camera Application

What I used was the QIK (the blue one) for HTC EVO. I was able to get on a video conference with my cousin who owns an evo as well. During this video conference call I was able to switch between the front and back cameras. Give it a shot

QIK crashes and does a "force close." If it did work we would be one step closer but I really just need the camera.

I took out the battery and rebooted, then opened QIK and it crashed.

Re: EVO Front Camera Crashes Camera Application

The camera application is a non-modifiable application, I think it is either a hardware problem or an os problem because it does not work in qik or camera.

Don't worry, you are of great help. Even if we don't solve the problem many thanks towards trying.

Re: EVO Front Camera Crashes Camera Application

I tried mine as well and was able to go back and fourth numerous times with no issues. Maybe a factory reset is worth a shot?
