Considering TP2 had no video acceleration at all, it was fairly slow. Weather animation on TP2 sucked big time. I am seeing definite improvements on Evo

I'm not some Engadget fan boy but what it accomplishes is to inform the end user about the devices out there. And my Evo rocks!

I actually liked the sense weather better on my TP2, especially with manila 2.5. The weather animations had blowing leaves, frost that develops on the screen and the whole screen flashed with lightning. Not a big deal bug was talked about when someone picked up my phone

Re: HTC EVO 4G's graphics capped at 30FPS?

The XDA folks told engadget so they could help stir up Sprint and HTC into looking into the issue. Engadget and others didn't discover this for themselves. The attention has obviously worked some. Several Google developers have stepped in and made comments and pretty much pointed the finger right at HTC.

Just like the Wifi issues. HTC and Sprint are actively working those issues as well. Again, because customers made waves, dropped hints to the "press" and got action.

Edub186, that's the side of the story you AREN'T seeing. It may "look bad" to you how they are reporting it, but you're going to reap the rewards when they get it noticed and fixed.

Re: HTC EVO 4G's graphics capped at 30FPS?

As the saying goes..good press or bad press..are both good...

just like Sprint is so happy they are sold out with EVO's..in a way its a bad thing because they aren't getting clients..but at the same time its giving them publicity and shows that the item is hot...I mean notice when iphone comes out engadget and most other sites get 2-3 articles about the iphone every day for like a month or 2...

well wouldn't seeing an android phone do the same be nice too? aka we need to make more news >.>...

I'm pretty sure you will never here any stories pointing out how some Evo owners have there phone on for 2 days straight with normal use using the overclocking widget. Whats is this hurting? Would the normal person even notice? Be serious.
I feel you on that

They can point @ who ever at the end of the day, we know from Hero experience that none of these companies will do anything to rush a fix.
Don't hold your breath......

Re: HTC EVO 4G's graphics capped at 30FPS?

Precisely. And smart folks are taking advantage that it's HTC and Sprint's prime toy out there now and they are willing to provide fast fixes and updates OTA instead of waiting months and months.

This isn't something folks should be complaining about. Don't think of it as a "bad review" or "bad press" but a way to force a fix sooner. If folks are "quiet" about problems and don't bother getting the word out, don't expect to get a fix from HTC.
