			The messaging app automatically resizes the pics to send through mms.  Also, you could lower the camera resolution to 3mp, if you know you will send the pic out as an mms.

			 Well it all go back to what networks think they can handle streaming-wise.  Sprint thinks their limit is what it's set to in our phones.  It resizes the picture; compresses it and makes it smaller, but the same quaity pic you took will go through.

			the thing is you wont be able to tell the difference between a 3mp vs 8mp picture when its sent as a mms. its so small that it won't matter, and the higher megapixel quality is for the purpose of blowing up the picture on a larger scale  |
