MMS Compression??

I was wondering if anyone knew why the phone shrinks a picture down sooo small whenever you send a picture mail? It shrunk my picture to about 22 kb which I thought was smaller than most thumbnail pics out there. Does it just look small to me and actually looks normal for whoever I'm sending it to? Is there a setting I missed?

I appreciate any help!

At least your shrinks it down. Mine just says to large and pretends to send but never sends.

Let me ask this: What is the actual method of sending a picturemail? For me when I'm in Gallery, I hit menu->share->messages. Then it'll show something like 22kb/2048kb or something. Is there another way to send these?

I thought I was crazy. This happened to me too. When you attach a picture, it says picture too large or something in a brief pop up (couldn't even read it). I tried to change the settings but the attachment limit was already set to 2mb. Very weird.

Not sure if its a bug, but here is my experience with MMS. If I take a pic, then send it from the album menu, the person never receives it. However if I go into my SMS and attach a picture through there they receive it. As for the OPs question, I want to know as well why it shrinks it so small LOL. Maybe the EVO is too co cky and thinks any other phone going to get it has some small 2"X2" screen.

Sorry if it's a dumb question, but how do you get to the settings?

Open the Messaging app. Hit Menu. Scroll down to Maximum message size.

There is never a dumb question if asked properly!

Any idea how to make this larger than 2M? I'd like it to be 10M.

Thanks

I've asked this myself. There is no way without root definitely, but I'm not aware of any way to do it. I know carriers are limited to size of received messages but I don't think that its 2MB. I use to send 3mbish MMS messages and certain carriers would get them full.
