wierd bug, help :(

hi, i got my evo a few days ago and about 2 days ago it started crashing

for example, the first time it happened i went into the market place and the phone crashed where i couldnt do anything on the screen and none of the bottom buttons worked

i did the soft turn off and it came back up to the screen lock

at that point the buttons work and the phone vibrates but i cannot slide the screen lock down to open the phone no matter how hard i try.

i took out the battery and it worked, but this error keeps occuring every day about 20 times, i dont want to have to keep taking the battery out everytime

i called bestbuy to exchange it but if you guys know a fix i would love to hear it

yes sorry i forgot to mention that

i factory reset the phone earlier today and thought the problem would go away but it happened two more times since i reset it

Then you should get it exchanged... hopefully they'll have one for you.

they said to come in tomorrow but do you guys think this could be a problem with anything on the phone or the sd card?
just want to make sure it wont happen on my new phone

did you re-install the apps after you did a factory reset on the phone?

I wonder if it's one of the apps that you have installed that is causing that?

Sounds like anotherperson got an evo with a bad ribbon cable.

i didnt install anything new when i reset it, the only thing i did was sync my gmail again and then it crashed and whats the bad ribbon cable?

i tried to turn it on today, and the only way the screen moves is if i touch it at the very top left corner

why dont you take it back to sprint?
