Exclamation Try this screen test with your EVO and report back

I seem to be experiencing what alot of droid incredible owners are experiencing.

If I put the phone on a table or bed and using only one hand/finger, try to roll down the notification panel, its very hard. it ends up selecting and activating something else on the screen. Once I hold the phone with the other hand, no problem.

I suspect it may be the same touch sensor grounding issue that droid incredible users are facing. Its not a big issue but once its on table or other non conductive surface, the touch sensitivity goes out the door. It registers lines drawn as dotted lines. I verified this with multitouch vis test and multitouch visualizer app from the market, as well as the magic marker app.

I'm unrooted, no atk, stock google I/O evo 4g.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I also noticed this. It seems entirely relegated to the very upper-most portion of the screen, where the notification panel is. The rest of the screen will register just fine for me. Holding it with my other hand or plugging it in via USB will eliminate this behavior. I'm using a stock retail evo.

One finger works fine for me. Even tried different surfaces.

I heard that the Evo 4G's from the I/O conference had some issues...I could be wrong though...

Re: Try this screen test with your EVO and report back

I have the same prob affecting the entire screen. Only happens when the phone is on a surface like my bed, and when only touch the phone with one finger on the screen to scroll with (not holding the phone with the other hand to steady it). Doing this with the stock browser open, the screen will barely recognize my gestures. When it does it's jerky and erratic, sometimes moving in the opposite direction or zooming in/out as if it registered a double-tap. If I touch the bezel with one finger from my other hand, the screen will respond normally. I do have an Invisishield screen protector on it, but I doubt it would cause this behavior. Then again this is my first capacitive touchscreen, so for all I know it might be normal.

Is the OP using a screen protector as well?
