EVO and Airave?
Forgive me if this has already been posted but I didn't see it anywhere, if you have an airave I'm sure most of you know that it will put you in the wrong location when using google's location finder i.e. current location for weather. Now for instance with my TP and my TP2 the my location feature would put me in Chicago but I actually live in Niles, MI but no real biggie because when I left the house or turned off the airave the location service works fine but now with the EVO not only does it tell me I'm in Chicago but it knocks my clock back to central time (we are on eastern here) but it never messed with my clock on my TP's and I wouldn't mind but it messes up my threaded text messaging. Does anybody have any idea for a workaround other than ditching the airave? I have signal without it but I have area's in the house where I will "break up" without it plus I tend to think it helps my bat life by not looking so hard for a signal. Any advice will be appreciated because I love this phone but this one little thing is starting to get on my nerves! LOL :headbang:

Re: EVO and Airave?
I actually have this issue but it only happens on my line ironically. I will be calling Sprint tech support about it. I know it has to do somethign with my line because I bought the evo under a different line it was fine then switched it to my line and got that I was in Canoga Park when I live about 80 miles south of canoga.

It has to do with the phone # assigned to your airave along with the gps location. Check your account page and do a reverse lookup and it will show where you airave thinks it is. |

Re: EVO and Airave?
My airave puts me 50+ miles north of my actual location, on the other side of Houston. Depends if the phone can get an actual GPS signal while inside or not... I'd love to fix the problem, if there is a fix. I figured it was the airave getting a VERY inaccurate GPS lock. It doesn't change my time though, thank goodness.

Re: EVO and Airave?
Well I just called airave support at (866)556-7310 and told them about my problem, I also asked about the airave having a gps on it so I was curious why it was happening even if my internet is coming from Chicago and she told me the GPS on the airave was strictly for 911 purposes. I might drag out the external gps antenna that came with it though to see if it helps. Anyone with airave issues call the number above to reprt it so maybe we can get this fixed. The tech on the phone couldn't help me but she said she was forwarding it to the engineers to see if they could figure it out, she also told me I was the first to call in with this problem, hell maybe I got a bad airave?

Re: EVO and Airave?
My TP2 with the Airave usually showed a city 90 minutes away from me and in another state. However the Evo always shows the correct city since I got it on Friday. Nothing changed other than switching from TP2 to Evo so not sure why it works, but I am glad it does.
