One thing that was very wierd is that i was still talking to my client when i heard the startup sounds, after looking at the phone as it is booting (at Sprint Screen) I was Still able to hear and talk to my client. It finally dropped the call on the 4G splash screen....

This would tell me that the phone is not really rebooting, as it would have dropped the call way before the startup audio. Is it possible to be soft resetting, or have a glitch that runs the "start up" screens and audio?
I did the same thing, reformatted to stock. My phone has been 100% reliable for 4 days. Zero reboots.

Re: evo randomly rebooting

I do believe that is is only on the stock rom...esp if a task killer was installed. that happened to me...while I was still running stock. since the rooting...and flashing with different ROMs I have not had another auto-reboot.

this is exactly what happened to me. So I made a chart on spreadsheet. I'll post out later, but based on what people have posted so far it is either an android problem or at least three different things.

Re: evo randomly rebooting

I have 2 EVOs. One is Hardware Version 0002. No problems. The other is version 0003. It has reboot problems.

Anyone else seeing a correlation to version 0003?

Re: evo randomly rebooting

I have a 002 so I don't think there is any correlation.

Re: evo randomly rebooting

MY Evo also randomly reboots. Sometimes several times per day. I have hardware version 002. I have all updates including PRL update. I am unrooted on stock rom. I have told Sprint advanced tech support of this issue when having a re-occuring problem where my phone had trouble automatically going into 4g mode. Even though phone indicated a good 4g signal was present, it couldn't sign into 4g network. I also informed Sprint advanced tech support of other issues I have noticed with my Evo , including ,streaming video and audio being out of sync, evo crashing to a black screen for a few seconds and then recovering itself when using a lot of memory, phone led light staying on for 3-4 seconds when unplug from charger, sometimes my keyboard is unresponsive with certain letters, especially the letters "p" and "a" until I use keyboard for about 30 seconds or so as well as my Evo External speaker makes a popping noise at certain audio frequencies.
