hmm good thought. up until now i've only used phones with 3-3.2mp cameras. BUT, i couldn't receive mms from an iphone 3g either. I sent and tried to receive a bunch late last night. i did finally get a few, but this was HOURS after and not all of them were sent or received, so i am still concerned.

Best bet is to call Sprint and see whats up.
interesting. well i have good reception here... my friend does not where he is with his evo. we can send sms back and forth no problems, it's just picturemail problems. i guess i'll have to call them...

Re: Problems with MMS on EVO

so can anyone with working MMS go into their default messaging app, click settings, then tap connection settings under the mms category and tell me if you have entries for "mms proxy" and "mms port." Mine are listed as "(not set)" and i'm thinking this might be why it's having issues.

If you have working MMS, let me know if yours are also listed as "not set" of if you have other entries there... thanks!

Mine says "not set" on both but I haven't had any issues with mms.

thanks for the reply. i'm happy to report it's not necessary tho! mms started working mysteriously ever since i started aggressively testing for it. only thing i did was update my profile, but i've already done that twice before the testing... weird. perhaps the one user was correct that sprint was having netowkr issues in some areas.
thanks anyway.

Great that you got it working again, my only issue is deciding between chompsms or handcent. I love the stock messaging app but I hate it when it shrinks the photo so small. I remember with winmo you can decide what size you want the pics to be when sent.

Re: Problems with MMS on EVO

i will have to try chompsms.... i've been using handcent recently and like it a lot. Does chomp have any clear advantages or disadvantages i should knwo about?

resizing definitely sucks, but I never really cared to have the greatest pic quality for mms. Just as long as I can see what's going on at a glance.

I don't really know honestly, I haven't used either of them enough to make an educated decision.

Re: Problems with MMS on EVO

In settings on handcent did you set max size to 1.2 mb. Heck I even changed it on the default messaging app to 2 mb. Tho I don't know if it still looks at that. But it seems like it was set very low when I got the phone. It shrinks them , but only to like 500 mb. Which is still a good pic

ahh gotcha. i haven't used hancent long enough to know if i dislike any features yet. i like the clean (and customizable) interface of handcent. I also like how you can have a popup for texts on the lockscreen, which allows you to reply/delete/etc right within it.
