Free WIFI tether works !!!!now with infrastructure mode.

Just to chime in a bit I used the infrastructure mode this entire weekend...cool for portable game console, which I might add I dont use, but the max connection on my pc was 25mbps and it seemed very slow. so I went back to the 1st wireless tether and I get 56mbps and it is much faster...no portable game connect, but my laptop is blazing....jus my experience

Well the link has the first version and I put the infrastructure version up so you have both to try good information tho. I will check and see if there is an update to the infrastructure version.

Ahhh supernoob alert...
I know I rooted via toast and I never got the su peemission app. I was told that even though I didn't that i was root due to the triangle ! when using usb. I got the teetering file via link checked the user auth.box and only get can't connect. Are you stating that only putting a custom rom or unrevoking will get this to work? Help.

unrevoked will work fine, that's all i used. i connected and actually played modern warfare 2 on ps3 yesterday using tether/unrevoked root. I was expecting to have 1 or 2 bars, but i actually had 3 bars and hardly any lag at all. only played 1 game, went the usual 24 kills 6 deaths.

Okay so just rooting for tethering won't work...gotcha I thought that was the reason I rooted in the first place

I guess I will have to try omj if I'm going through all the trouble.

I really thought I was losing my mind over something WAY over my head.

NO rooting for Tethering does work but if you use toasts method then you have to flash a custom rom with Super user built in. If not the you have to use something like unrevoked but only for a ROOTED tethering option like the FREE WIFI TETHER, Pdanet and easytether DO NOT require you to be rooted. Clear as mud now? If you did taost method it sounds like you did not finish or just did his stuff without a rooted rom.

Hello,

i am rooted using the toast method. i am able to tether just fine but i get disconnected every 10 minutes. on my phone it still says connected, but on the bottom its showing 0kb up and 0kb down. i will then have to manually turn off tether and then turn it back on. reconnect on my computer and it will disconnect after another 10 minutes. i tried power cycling the phone, tried it on different laptops and tried changing the frequency. no luck
