Need to get OWA pushing to my Evo ASAP!

Oh boy, I thought this would be a cinch, since I had it on my BlackBerry and my Touch Pro and Diamond...

I had Outlook Web Access pushed to my older phones, and REALLY need it on the Evo. I go in, and try and set it up via Exchange, and get nowhere fast. It comes right back and tells me that it couldn't verify my username/pass word combination, which are clearly put in correctly.

Anyone got this setup yet?

I have it working. Did you try the manual setup?

Sure did. Figured it would be a breeze. Have everything entered, hit "next" and it bounces back really really fast w/ a username/password error.

Re: Need to get OWA pushing to my Evo ASAP!

I've read Exchange configs don't work on Android 2.1 if your company requires PIN + remote wipe policy. Mine does and I can't get this to work either. 2.2 improves on this but also falls short.

I'd be interested in hearing if anyone has figured out a way around this other than changing the Exchanger server policy for your account.

That's a good question. They technically don't allow personal devices to connect to Exchange or via OWA. I was able to sneak in my BlackBerry via my Sprint BIS account for mail, just not for anything else. I use Google Calendar to sync appointments, so it was never a problem.

I never had a certificate or anything for the BIS setup, nor when I had it working on my Touch Pro...so I don't think it's required. Basically, trying to hack my way back in!

Re: Need to get OWA pushing to my Evo ASAP!

BES and microsoft exchange are two different beasts..

you probably need a cert installed on your phone. i needed a cert on my pro2 to get it to connect to the companies exchange. i have an evo also and i entered my creds just fine and it loaded up just fine. i also had no issues on the hero...

if you have OWA access, go there and grab the cert from the website, then install that cert to your device.

you can also try touchdown which is an AWESOME app for exchange. its not free but i think it has a trial.. if it does, install it and see if you can get in that way...

worse case is perhaps your IT department has to ALLOW android devices to access its servers which means your email account does not allow non company approved devices to access its email servers...

Re: Need to get OWA pushing to my Evo ASAP!

Where in the settings can you install the certif? I know there was an icon on WM in the settings page, but I can't seem to find it here in android...

Re: Need to get OWA pushing to my Evo ASAP!

generally speaking the owa is generally used for EAS. whick the BB doesn't utilize EAS so you must have set that up via imap/pop. and you admin must enable eas on your exchange profile for you to use it
