I've only had HTC phones, and I've never had an issue with the screens. I did have a mogul that took a crap on me, but it was a refurb, so who knows what kind of life that thing had before me. My Treo 700wx was a work horse, mogul was just "eh". The hero was bad @$$, and the evo, well that's [Emeril]BAM!!! ANOTHER NOTCH!!![/Emeril]

And to the OP, I wouldn't worry about a screen protector. The glass screen is very difficult to scratch. I would have a case around the phone, in case you drop it. If the screens were plastic, like the pre, and other resistive phones, you'd need it. Hell, I see beat to hell iPhones on ebay, and they have flawless screens.

Edit: and +1 on seeing the rest of that girl on your home screen... :D

To the OP,

I had this EXACT same thing happen to me when I installed a ZAGG screen protector on my HTC Touch Pro. I thought I had screwed it up but I remember reading in another forum that you can pull the battery and put the phone in a bag of regular white rice.

I left the phone in there for 2 days and the rice removed any excess moisture. Screen has been PERFECT ever since.

Just thought I would share.
