My "Menu" button doesn't seem to be quite as bright white as the other 3 buttons...I don't really care though. The phone is awesome.

So what u guys are saying is that when u press the power button those four touch sensitive buttons should be slightly illuminated (dimmed)

No, when I press the power button to turn the screen off, they turn off too.

If u are in a dark room and your evo is not being charged or hooked up to your pc, when u press that power button, those 4 buttons are lit just a lil bit. Try it, if this is the case then mine is defective

When you turn the phone on or off? You need to clarify.

If my phone is not hooked up to anything at all, and I turn the screen on, after about half a second, the buttons light up too. When I turn the screen off, the buttons turn completely off too.

...and it behaves EXACTLY the same way when plugged into the wall to charge, or to USB and set to "charge only"...just tried it.

 I feel like I'm at some weak science fair expo and everyone is fighting over peer reviewed results...

Ok, let ME clarify. The issues is the four flush hardkeys on the bottom of the front face of the device. Try comparing in the darkness to be sure. When the phone isn't plugged in to a charger, obviously the keys aforementioned should softly light up.

BUT: When plugged in, do your keys light up in the dark??

Just post yes or no to that question, and we will see who the majority is.

Goodness folks, people are getting freaked out.
