Evo Stopped Receiving Text Messages

So this just started sometime this afternoon, for whatever reason I am no longer able to receive text messages on my Evo. It has been working fine since I got it on Wednesday, but now, nothing.
Anyone else with an Evo having this same problem?

Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Re: Evo Stopped Receiving Text Messages

Just tested, works okay Did it with the screen off, discovered it turns on the screen, showing the text in a box that stays up for 15 seconds +/-, and with 3 buttons at the bottom, Close, Delete, Reply, and Inbox in the upper right hand corner. Can't say I'm crazy about that, since the wrong button may get pushed, like delete, before I ever see it.

Really? Mine doesn't come on at all. The notification led just blinks

Just rebooted and that seemed to have fixed it, which is odd because I have already tried that twice.
Mine doesn't do what yours is doing though. My screen stays off and shows the notification at the top, as well as a preview on the bottom of the screen.
You probably turned Sense off, thats why its different.

Thats what mine does, my last post may have been a little confusing. I meant that it shows the preview and notification at the top once I turn on the screen. My screen does not turn on at all.

Re: Evo Stopped Receiving Text Messages

I don't have Sense turned off, I don't even know how to. I think it's hard on the Evo compared to the TP2, from what I've heard. Maybe something I installed is doing it. I just tried email, and it didn't turn on the screen, then did another text, and it did turn on the screen. Weird, any ideas?

Thats odd. Just out of curiosity, do you prefer Sense, or would you rather have the Stock Android Launcher? I know how to turn it off, its actually pretty easy. Still prefer Sense though, I have always loved that weather clock.

Re: Evo Stopped Receiving Text Messages

I prefer Sense, and I found the problem. It was a little free program I installed from the Market called SMS Popup. Uninstalled that, problem gone. One thing new users will have to deal with is that there are so many free apps in the Market, that it's easy to load up 100's of them, and the consequences may not immediately be known

Re: Evo Stopped Receiving Text Messages

You cant "turn sense off". You can use a different launcher/homescreen but sense is still there. The gallery, internet, twitter, friendstream, test messaging app, lockscreen, calendar, etc are all still skinned for sense

Yeah to be honest there a lot of them I wouldn't even consider apps, just something to download that can't really do anything but take up space.
