Re: Moving up an upgrade?

From my experience, Sprint has no issue upgrading early if you are within a certain window of time. For example, I called and was told I was eligible for full upgrade on 12/1, but to call back late October or early November and they would see if they could upgrade me early. They have to draw the line somewhere though, likely around 60 days...

Fortunately, I am using another line to upgrade to the EVO on release day and then transferring the phone to my line ASAP and then allowing this other person to use my upgrade in December if they want it... If not, I may grab a WP7 phone.

Re: Moving up an upgrade?

same situation I tried calling sprint see if I can get early upgrade and get $150 off and get evo. They said sorry! been with sprint since 2000. I told them if I get evo its more in your pocket I am willing to upgrade my plan to everything data they still said no. Well I am happy with my tp2.

Update: I called Sprint and one rep told me when Evo comes out go to a corporate store and speak tot he store manager and ask if they can do early upgrade. Manager has to call sprint national sales support and get a approval.

Re: Moving up an upgrade?

My upgrade date is August 1st and the rep said that they would move it up to July 1st. I can wait till then.

One issue though..... he said that since I have the old Sprint Free and Clear program that I have to upgrade to their unlimited $69.00 plan. My "add-on" unlimited data plan won't work with the EVO..... WTF? That is stupid. i've had this plan forever.

Re: Moving up an upgrade?

No luck here either. Went back and forth with them on the phone and via email. Wouldn't budge, even after I made what I thought to be some pretty no-brainer points as to how it's a win for Sprint. Unbreakable policies without common sense are a good way to drive a business into the ground.

Oh well. I just said screw it, and picked up a Google IO unit.

Re: Moving up an upgrade?

I ended up getting 2 weeks early and $10/24, after reading some of the comments here though I kinda feel like I should call back and ask for July 1st instead of the 15th.

Try having a sweet girl call in "mrs. bedoig" and have her try. You catch more flies with honey. Can't tell you how many times I have helped out a customer and got them what they wanted for "some strange reason".
