Soo, for those who got hold of this puppy early, has anyone ripped DVDs, movies or a/v files yet for the device? If so, what resolution, aspect and format did you choose?

I figured if I got one of the 16GB cards, I might as well get busy putting stuff on it now...

Has anyone ripped a 720p video and linked this up to an HDTV yet?

Almost forgot, is there a Divx, app or other codex for Android?

I put a video from my ps3 on last night 720p res mp4 avc video and aac audio codec only sound came through, some tweaking should get better results

According to the reviews, no Dvix Xvid and HTC doesn't have it in it's priority list.

So HTC is the only one able to make codecs for this phone? I was just under the assumption that if Android was open that Divx itself (for example) could make the codec in native mode and make it available or even a 3rd party vendor...

Is this not the case then?

Thanks for the link to the guide- my hope is that I could use the EVO as a media player for my HDTV via HDMI but wouldn't that mean that I would need to output 1280×720 instead of 800x480?
