Just called my local best buy where I pre-ordered my Evo last weekend. They said all best buy stores will only be able to handle about 30 customers per day. So if you pre-ordered it there and werent one of the first 30 people, then you're going to be getting on June 5th, not the 4th. Luckily I was one of the first so I wont have to wait an extra day. The anticipation is already killing me and its 2 weeks away !

does best buy have a partnership with sprint? also, can i make a direct transfer with another phone to get it? (HTC touch pro2 will get me about $155-$177)

That sounds really dumb. I have not pre-ordered yet, but I GUARANTEE you I will have the phone on the 4th!!=D> =D>

It does sound dumb. You have to think though in an 8 to 10 hour business day how many people can they set the phone up with, make them pay for it, and do the line transfers though. I hope you do get your phone on the 4th, this thing is going to be epic.


as far as direct transfer? I have no clue what you mean. Sell your TP2, thats what I am going to do. Just pay for the EVO up front and then ebay my TP with all my extras for prob 200 bucks 'buy it now' - You should be doing the same.

Odd... the information I got is that they would have as many phones as preorders. Unless some locations got flooded with preorders so now they dont have enough phones. As well I'm #6 hehe

They try that bs with me and I will just sit there until they give me mine.. hell im just buying outright and leaving anyways I dont need them to do anything for me.

... the problem isnt a lack of phones it a lack of time to set them up...
now for me they dont need to activate it for me they just need me to do the paperwork

i agree this sounds really dumb,im usually a nice customer but this i will raise hell for i preordered exactly one week ago and i preorder so i have my phone guranteed on the 4th.

That may be true, but I believe the OP was saying that they can only handle a certain amount of pre-order customers per day. They will probably have your phone on the 4th, but won't be able process you. Some Best Buys informed their customers that they were handling the the process by making appointments. How many people do you think they can handle in one day?
