If you read the article correctly a transition of that kind would take years; even if it just a software upgrade on their part. It's nothing something that's going to happen in like a day.

Sprint wouldn't be that dumb to give out a Wimax phone one day and not even get the maximum profits from it. Would be a total waste of time.

Meh... by the time they switch, if they switch, I'll likely be looking at a new phone that is supported by LTE.

Re: Well.. this sucks for EVO 4G owners to be (including me)

Why does this suck? LTE and WiMax are almost the same exact technologies. It even says on the link you posted that it's just a software upgrade. The Evo should work on LTE as well as WiMax.

EDIT: I saw where they said it could be bad for Evo users, but all it would need is a radio update.

"Just a software upgrade" .. "should work" .. from the same people that said WiMax would not cost more. Glad you trust them so much.

WiMax doesn't cost more. They never lied about that. Why does everyone keep saying this? lol Dan Hesse never promised anything about 4G devices costing less because the technology costs less.

if or when that happened, the EVO will/would be obsolete by then anyways.. devices have about a 1_2yr shelf life before their upgraded and forgotten about..
