Meh... by the time they switch, if they switch, I'll likely be looking at a new phone that is supported by LTE.

Why does this suck? LTE and WiMax are almost the same exact technologies. It even says on the link you posted that it's just a software upgrade. The Evo should work on LTE as well as WiMax.
EDIT: I saw where they said it could be bad for Evo users, but all it would need is a radio update.

WiMax doesn't cost more. They never lied about that. Why does everyone keep saying this? lol Dan Hesse never promised anything about 4G devices costing less because the technology costs less.

if or when that happened, the EVO will/would be obsolete by then anyways.. devices have about a 1_2yr shelf life before their upgraded and forgotten about..

same here.. between my 4 lines and 1 being a Premier line as well, im upgrade elgible every few months on atleast on of em if not 2
