Apps for the Evo?

Okay guys, I know some of you are Android vets. I'm an Android virgin. And judging by the poll results, most of us are Android virgins, coming from WinMo.

Give us the skinny please. We need an apps list. What are the must haves that we have to put on the Evo?

Re: Apps for the Evo?

When I'm out shopping, I love the google shopper app. I can scan a book cover, barcode, etc, and find info about that item. You can also download barcode scanner. They are kind of similar, but serve slightly different purposes. I use foursquare all the time, to check in places, as a novelty. Urbanspoon and Yelp to find restaurants and things to do near you. For some humor, I like urban dictionary. Ebay and Amazon apps work well, too. I've never used the app, but I downloaded Bump, so if I find someone else with an Android/iPhone who has bump, we can transfer contact info, by bumping our phones. Astro File manager is very useful.

I may download Mint, which is kind of like Microsoft Money. It tracks your bank account, and you can see how your income compares to your expenses.

Disclaimer: Android virgin, but have been rooting around another forum for the lowdown on Android and have compiled a list of apps set to roll once the Evo hits:

Apps for the phone

48 total, 47 free (97%), 1 paid (2%), 49MB total size, $2.99 total price

Re: Apps for the Evo?

Is there a Sirius Radio App.. I see all these Apps and don't know what most of them do. I am comign from Windows Mobile and it was my 1st smart phone. I am looking forward to the EVO and I won an HTC now the Touch Pro 2 so I am hoping I can adapt to it fairly easy. I guess I'll hit the Android App page and browse there too.

Re: Apps for the Evo?

Here's whats in the link:

Sirus XM radio intends to launch a Google Android application, letting subscribers tune into 120 channels of commercial-free music and talk programming.

The satellite radio network offers several subscription options for mobile users: An internet only plan or a discount on mobile service for existing satellite radio subscribers. Sirius XM offers 7 day free trial memberships so you can test the app before signing up for a service plan.

The Android app isn’t avialable yet, but you can sign up at the Sirius XM web site to receive an email when it’s available. The company currently offers apps for BlackBerry and iPhone.

Here's where to sign up for updates:

I would think you would have the same access to your account on Android as you do on WM. And when you say you don't pay for it on WM, that means you have a subscription, but you pay nothing additional for the mobile app usage?
