You can expect the Evo to do well now that Oprah is seen useing one. Most of what Oprah touches now is almost a given success, Sprint needs to make sure this is ready to blow the compitition away and raise the bar.

If you look closely on the side of the phone there seem to be some kind of bar code, also the retail version shouldn't have the red speaker grill.

..and yes it is smart to expose such a high tech phone on Oprah so her legions of female followers will look on it more as "Oprah Approved" and attach that Billionaire Mogul cachet of coolness to it. If their husbands/boyfriends were on TV endorsing it, I doubt they would give it a second look ironically

I am definitely not an Oprah clone...but I am glad I discovered this phone independently, and Yes I will be getting the EVO in spite of anything Oprah, the Dalai Lama, The Pope, The Queen and any other "Celebrity" says about it...good or bad, (well maybe Jessica Alba, or my favorite 'Transformer' Megan Fox..God She's HOT!!!!!!!!!)

Bring on June 6th/13th or whenever this damn thing gets released!!!!!

personally I don't really know who Oprah is but I heard they were popular so I guess sprint finally has a brain by giving out the phone to celebrities..that said why to the women audience and not the men audience? or they plan to give it to men audience shows closer to release date due to stereotype how men have short memories? lol

are you serious right now? oprah has the biggest following of any 1 person, her followers are loyal and products become famous because oprah says so. That was a mighty nice joke. She says a certain brand is good and tomorrow that brand is sold out, no joke.

I cant stand onscreen keyboards either but the evo is quite possibly one of the sexiest things I have ever seen. Its crazy though, I told myself I wouldn't get an android device until I atleast tried out wm7 and I also told myself that I will never buy a phone without a slide out keyboard. But damn it, android 2.1 with sense looks so amazing and what else can I say about that 4.3" screen.

Ok.. your post did make me laugh!

Muffinman, I agree. Up to now I did not ever consider an all touch phone, period. I've had a Samsung i730, HTC 6700, HTC 6800 and Samsung moment... all sliders.

I did like the swype keyboard with the moment. I hope I can get to enjoy the onscreen like a slider. One thing though..

The keyboard on screen takes up screen space.. period. Look at a slider when the keyboard is extended, the phone is bigger and the screen is unobstructed by an onscreen overlay.

It finally looks like onscreen done right.. I sure hope so.

Don't forget you have that speech to text app as well, I saw some vidoes of it on youtube and it seems to work pretty damn good so that should help with longer texts and emails.
