Post Anyone have an idea on the price for the Evo 4G?

Hey guys, I was just wondering, based on previous device releases, how much this bad boy will run me. I bought the Touch Pro 2 and was lucky enough to get a good amount of money for my Touch Pro 1 to afford it. I say lucky, because I didn't blow my $150 Instant Savings from Sprint.

From what I remember, when the Touch Pro 2 came out, it's "Regular Price" was $599.99. That's just plain damned outrageous for a phone. I'm really hoping the Evo 4G is a little lower than that, but who knows!? With it's HDMI port, 720p camcorder and all the other amazing specs, I'm really not sure.

So I figured I'd ask the wonderful community of PPCG. What do you guys think? Here my best guess...

-------------------------------------------------------
Regular Price:________$559.99
Instant Savings:_____-$150.00
Mail-In Rebate?:______-$100.00
New Price:____________$309.99
-------------------------------------------------------

And that's AFTER the Mail-In rebate if there even is one. Meaning you're actually dishing out about $409.99. But thats just based on my estimations. What does everyone else think?

Re: Anyone have an idea on the price for the Evo 4G?

Well, if rumors are true, the phone would be around $200, after rebate, on a 2 year contract. I have a feeling your retail price will be fairly close to the actual retail price (I sound like Bob Barker ).

So, while the $150 instant savings will remain intact, they may have some $100 incentive, along with the MIR, to get the phone around $200. Sprint wants WiMax to be popular, and if they go much above $200, they will have a hard time selling WiMax to the masses.

Re: Anyone have an idea on the price for the Evo 4G?

I believe the Touch Pro's are also considered business phones internally, netting them a higher market price due to company expenses being higher then you and I.

This phone would be deemed under consumer phones, which is why I believe they will be a bit less then the touch pros were at their respective launches.

With the HTC Incredible being sold for $199...will this affect sprints pricing model?

Re: Anyone have an idea on the price for the Evo 4G?

There is no way that sprint will sell this phone for $299 after rebates. This is sprints opportunity to win back alot of customers so I am guessing no more than $249 after rebates but $199 would be a big FU to verizon too.

Re: Anyone have an idea on the price for the Evo 4G?

This should be compared to the instinct and not the TP2. That was like $129 if I remember correctly. So I say this being $199 is a good guess.

Re: Anyone have an idea on the price for the Evo 4G?

My Guess is 199 anything higher than that and they can't appeal to the mainstream. Business phones they can charge exorbant amounts because corporations pay the price(most of the time).

Re: Anyone have an idea on the price for the Evo 4G?

eventhough tmobile and verizon have almost the same phone for $199, hd2 and incredible.....for some reason sprint phones always cost more so most likely after all rebates would be $299.................look how verizon drop the tp2 for as litle as $80 sprint website its still $299....................its not going to be cheap..........because it has a couple of things the other dont' HDMI, dual Camera and 8 megepixel, and 4G.................i wish it would have been as afordable as the HD2 but it will cost much more
