Re: feeding the rumor mill.... may release date?

Isn't May 9th the date the semi-finalists get notified? I seem to remember something about semi-finalists in the contest, which would indicate another round of voting.

But I agree 100%, the blog winners will have an Evo before everyone else. Generate some good "real people" hype, and create some sales for this device.

Edit: I think I have it all figured out now. The 10 semi-finalists will receive Evos (they will be notified on May 18th). 4 of those will win vacations to a 4G city.

Yeah, if your sprint account qualifies for it then you can.

How do you know if your account qualifies for this? I have never tried to charge anything to my account so I don't know if that would work or not for me. Is there a way to find out or do I have to just wait until it's released and call in and try?

they basically just do a credit check, just chat online or call them they can tell you.

It will depend on a few factors, I'm assuming. If you are a new customer, I'm guessing you would need to have some sort of credit check.

Or,

If you've been a long time customer, in good standing, meaning you've paid your bill consistently, you should be okay.

I've been a customer since 2001 (started with Nextel), and have always paid my bill on time (and my monthly bill is $250/mo), they have no issues billing my account for phones.

I have been with sprint for quite a while as well but like others have said, you want to make sure that your account is in good standing and that you don't have a monthly spending limit on your sprint account. Just call customer service and they can tell you just by looking at your account.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; en-us; A6277 Build/ERE27) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17 Sprint APA6277KT)

It shows that sprint personnel are as much in the dark about release dates as we are. I spoke with a store owner and he said the scheduled release date is set for the week of the 6th-13th of June. Keep in mind that if there are problems or major issues then the date will be worthless. He did say however that he was told it would have be a major issue. From talking with him I get the feeling sprint is kind of anxious to get this phone out the door and on the.market.

i 2 been w/ sprint since nextel days.. but i know i have a "no line limit". i also never seem to pay my bill on time but that has never been a prob. w/ me getting the phone credited to my account. the only thing i have to make sure of is that my account needs to be payed up 2 date then they will just credit my account. its kinda nice...get phone, pay later (sum times its 1-3 months b4 i get the bill)

I dont know how they choose honestly. Ive had them for 2 yrs and have had 2 overdue bills and a couple paid a few days late. Still I am Premier, which means nothing except that you can charge phones to your account.

Has anyone hear ever reaped any of the additional or the infamous "just because" benefits? I think its all bull

Re: Evo Release date???

Sprint needs to become a little tougher this time. They cannot let the iPhone be released before the EVO or they will risk loosing alot of potential customers. It seems Verizon and Apple are always ahead of the game with releases and know how to be sneaky. Well Sprint...this is your chance to pull out a BIG surprise on them.:silent:
