but anyways i hope it does come out sooner then august because my phone contract is up in may. Waiting till august will force my to get the new iphone =]

Got some absolutely wonderful info today, but unfortunately I'm not allowed to share it YET. I will say this though: The device is NOT a world phone, I specifically asked if I was able to share that. Going to have to be more stringent with my info though, my source browses this forum. =/ Anything I say from here on out will have to be specifically approved (but still good tidbits).

From what I hear around the net, the phone is basically done and is in full production stage as we speak so feasibly 6/6 to 6/13 is looking good but maybe just maybe sprint would release early since the phones will more than likely be in stores well before that date in preperation for launch, but who knows only time will tell. Besides sprint needs to take some of the attention away from verizon(incredible) and att(iphone) so I say release it early with a price of $199 after rebates.

Well I can almost guarantee you that the phone is "done", or will be "done" by May 9th. How do I know this? Well, that's the date that sprint announces the winners of their contest of who'll get an EVO, so they can blog about their experience with it and, in general, just tease the ever living bajesus out of us. It's not like they are going to send the winners beta prototype phones, since you can bet your anxious little hands that they've already done exhaustive in/out-house testing, and for all intents and purposes the phone is done. And if so happens that it needs an update or two, it'll more than likely be released OTA, or by whichever method they do with Android. Plus, I'd imagine they'd let their "winners" sing it's praises for about a week or two before they ship the phone to retailers, then another week or two before they give the retailers the green light to start selling it.

So all in all, I imagine the early June release date rumor to be more-or-less dead on.

I think Apple just set the release date for us. They will be revealing the iPhone 4G June 7th. That has to be targeted at stealing some Evo thunder.

just got off the phone with a sprint rep who said that the evo will be released in May and said he doesn't have a specific date, but it should be the 3rd week.
