Re: Stealth Guards full body protecton - free (pay only shipping)

a review from android forums:

Stealth Guards- Pretty new company from what I've seen, but from the prices I went with it. You get two full bodies for 9.99. So the box was just a white cardboard box. Crappy packing if you ask me. Well let's move on. The installation was just like Zagg's, with the exception of the stretching, the screen fit perfectly!! The little pieces just were a pain to put on, as usual. The screen felt great, like phantom skinz, it was good, almost the real screen. No rubber feel. Then the protection was great! I really liked it, it offered Zagg's protection and proved up to the scratching. There was one problem, well three. The website seems like a scam, the cms isn't good, and the thing is a dust magnet, really, it attracts more dust then all them, but nothing a wipe won't fix. It had alright grip, better than Phantomz.

Pros: Screen feel, price!! price! Price!Protection, and did I mention price? You get two!

Cons: Website looks like a scam, shipping isn't tracked, the thing all seems shady, grip wasn't at Zagg's par.

Overall: 4.4/5
Installation: 4/5
Screen Feel: 4/5
Protection: 5/5
Grip: 4/5
Price: 5/5

I tried to order with Paypal using the link on the page and got an error message once on the Paypal website. No thanks! It's not worth risking that kind of information to save a few $$

Ditto but I took it twice one for me and one for my friend!
I have Zagg but it is by far the worse screen protect I have ever had the displeasure of using!

Just googled "stealth gaurds scam" and it pulls up a lot of other forums of members talking about disputing the purchase with paypal and the ones who used a debit card are changing their card numbers.....AND, the review posted here was posted in a lot of other forums too dating back to 4 months ago.....so I guess that is the only review!!!!!!!!! Then I found another forum talking about receiving them and they were terrible quality and shipping took forever......

just letting you all know....I did my homework after ordering (payed with paypal), which I normally always do my homework first. Guess I was just half asleep and went for it and then thought about it afterwards...Oh well.....

Hmm..... I googled stealth guard scam and didn't come up with much. I found one person talking about them needing a SSN for an affiliate program which they do as it is a form of payment taxes and such. The other thing I found was this http://androidforums.com/accessories...protector.html which supports what OP posted as far as reviews. So I don't know. I ordered two I will let everyone know when I get it.

Do you have links for these posts?

lol man, just like you I did my Google due diligence. I noticed they didn’t ask for any SSN and linked me to a legit paypal site. I feel confident enough that at $2.85 it'll be okay regardless of scam or not.

but if it is a scam, I’ll be like that kid for that old movie... "I WANT MY $2 DOLLARS!!!"

Haha, yea I know. I'm not worried about losing a couple bucks, but more about them trying to hack my papal account.

just got mine in the mail today. no instructions, just a plain envelope, invoice, and the skins. i've read they're poorly cut and arent very good. instructions are online and it says to apply a solution (which did not come in the envelope).

i read ppl are using a dap of soap and water and a spray bottle. i think i'll try adding at least the face and battery pack.

i got mine a couple days back and same thing. just a plain envelope and they dont seem to bad really.... the cuts on mine arent bad and will show pics when i get back in town from texas on moday. no solution either and i used just a couple squirts of liquid soap in a solo party cup with luke warm water. seemed to work pretty good and have no troubles with the them sticking and staying in place. (no squeege either) the one thing that i did notice is that they dont seem as if they will stay nice looking for long, they seem to get imprintations in them pretty easily.

Does it come with anything for the camera? I really want to get protection for the camera since its not replaceable with a new battery cover like in the past.

there is a circle cut out for the camera lens, but like i said mine was cut bad...meaning i had a hard time getting the circle part off. I guess if you left the circle on, you could use it on the lens? but i would think that could lead to blurry pictures.

Received mine as well today. For those wondering, I heard nothing from the company by email and then this showed up today. So don't fret if you haven't received a "item shipped"email, yours are still coming...

Well....that maybe true
Have you tried installing yours yet? I know I wont install the screen protector as I am very happy with my Zagg, but I may cut circles in to it the size of the camera lens and use it for that. Should be able to get quite a few "lens protectors" out of it....

Re: Stealth Guards full body protecton - free (pay only shipping)

hey guys, i did a lengthy writeup on how to apply these to your phone if you already purchased them. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=751671. xda is down right now, but feel free to copy the writeup to the first or any post. just credit me thx. you might want to include the picture from the website in the post too. pro: the protectors themselves are good. cons: they take a while to ship, they are cut bad, and you have to go online to get the instructions, but the instructions is just a picture that gives you a general idea of where things go. look at my writeup to get yours on right.

among other things, i think alot of people are also griping because they don't know how to put on a protector. i bought one for another phone before, and i totally messed it up, it was so frustrating. i didn't take my time though. this one was a little frustrating for the side parts because i was trying to rush. applying screen protectors for the front and back is not too daunting, and i don't think i'll ever have an issue doing that again. the sides (for this one at least)? you have to be patient and precise.

@stang: there is already a cutout for the camera... you should use that, so you don't waste your protector should you want to use it down the line. it is bigger than the camera circle, but if yours is in a case, then you won't have to do anything extra.

all in all, you will get your protectors. they just did a very bad job in
1) being too cheap to buy jimmy the intern lunch to do a writeup on how to apply these
2) not including said instructions in the envelope to save a piece of paper.

Re: Stealth Guards full body protecton - free (pay only shipping)

No, I was saying that I will cut out a circle and stick it on to the camera so that the camera lens will have protection on it from scratches.

akastixx 08-31-2010 08:24 PM

Re: Stealth Guards full body protecton - free (pay only shipping)

i got you, but there are already a circle there. when you peel the back protector off its sheet, the cutouts for the camera, speaker, and flash remain. they have the adhesive on them, just like the rest of the protector. i put the camera one on mine, and inside the case i have, it is fine, even though it is larger than the lens. it ends up protecting the red bezel too.
