Stylus?

I have a stylus from my old phone, and for some reason the EVO's screen won't respond to it. Curious if I am suppose to get a special one, or if anyone had any advice?

I am planning to try the stylus for swype texting just to see if it's any faster.

A regular stylus wont work with the evo due
to the type of touch screen. The do make special ones that will work, i think they run around $20

Re: Stylus?

Search for a capacitive stylus. Or iPhone stylus. Dealextreme has some for pretty cheap.

Re: Stylus?

That sucks, every capacitive stylus I have seen so far looks like you'd be using the eraser end of pencil to "write" with it. Not exactly the size/precision I was looking for. Going to look into what makes these things "capacitive"

Re: Stylus?

yeah everything I have seen on the "do it yourself" front either looks terrible, or has the eraser tip and not like a pin tip.

I have no idea if it will work, but thinking about trying to put a battery inside the "hollowed" pen kind of stlyus and see if I can get the capacitive screen react to a finer point.

lol this is pretty close.

I bought a three pack of "capacitive stili" (sp? lol) off of ebay for 1.99 free shipping from hong kong (how is that even possible?)

In a nutshell, they suck. its like dragging a limp squirrel you know what around the screen.

its literally a rubber bag stuck on the end of a hollow plastic tube.

Still a great deat at 2 dollars considering how far away it came from! haha

You can go to the cell phone repair shop and see if the problem is the stylus. If yes, then try it with a new stylus.
