An idea for case makers: a case that fits over phone without battery cover

Since the Evo is a pretty unique phone with a unique battery cover design. One that does not need a separate glass/lens to protect the 8mp camera.

I'd definitely buy seidio or epik or any kind of case to work with the phone without the stock battery cover underneath.

Why? This case would then hug the phone even closer providing minimum bulk yet still protect the phone edges and back.

all it needs is exact holes for the camera, speaker, led flash and kickstand.

basically, don't need the stock battery cover if a case maker can design one that not only protects the phone but also add as little bulk/thickness as possible.

just an idea...

Maybe one that covers just the outer frame but thick enough so the screen is still a little recessed so it's still protected from drops. Also the back open so I can easily open the battery cover to swap batteries. I'd buy that and it would probably be cheaper to make.

Kinda like the iphone4 bumpers that apple is making? I like that idea too. I'm not really looking for tank like protection. just edge protection and from small falls perhaps.

Wow I shoulda patent it so I couldve sued apple lol. But I hear ya. I'm not a fan of cases when it makes it bulky. The Evo is large enough as is. Plus with the battery consumption on this thing, swapping batteries is my only work around so I need something I can remove easily or have access to the battery cover.

My co worker has a case just as you described, its clear plastic that wrap arount to the front. Ill try and get some pics and ask where he got it

Excellent! thanks!. but if its clear, that means all that red plastic of the phone's chassis is visible.

That case looks like it was made to be worn with the stock battery cover. Lord help it if any bit of water falls on the back where there is the huge hole for the camera and flash.
