Hey, is there a good waterproof case for the evo?

I trust nothing with this phone in that regard. There are some generic ones out there but im not sure about them.

I have this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ef=oss_product

EVO fits in just like the iPhone in the picture. I have already tested it in a swimming pool and it works as advertised. What is nice about this one is the pump/valve that sucks out all the air to create a vacuum and the fact that you can have your headphones/headset hooked up to your EVO to listen to music or talk, and still have the phone protected.

I've used the same one that shappy linked above rebranded for Creative for use with the Vado. Took it white water rafting strapped to the life vest and went into the water when i took a dunk at a calmer section, it was absolutely fine.

Keep some dessicant in the pouch when its not in use and you're guranteed to have a dry device. Not sure if the capacitive screen will work through the pouch though, its a little thick.

I can confirm that the touch screen not only works through the plastic of the case, but it also works under water. I took some video of the case in action (above and under water) but I forgot to turn up the brightness of my EVO, so the screen is really hard to see. I was going to upload it up to YouTube (in 720P!) but I didn't because of the screen brightness.

If anyone really wants to see it, let me know and I will put it on YouTube.

Here is a link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqAk1DEnQp0

I wasn't going to post it, because it didn't come out very well. I can tell you that I carefully examined the phone afterwards and there was no evidence of any water intrusion.

I used to use zip lock freezer bags for water protection, and they never failed me, but I liked that this one lets you listen to your music or talk while still protecting the phone.

Sweet, I must say, you are pretty brave to test it. I wonder how good the video recording quality would be underwater? :headbang:

I have to say, I did have second thoughts about testing it. But, as they say, I got's to know!

I am sure using it under water would be possible, but I have my Panasonic DMC-TS1 for that, which does an excellent job. I mainly got the Dry Case for protection from splashing at the pool and beach and for when I kayak.
