Screen protector question

Hi all,

Very excited to be getting my evo today or monday.

I was wondering if a screen protector is required since this is a glass/capacitive screen and should not scratch under most conditions. On my old windows phones, I would use screen protectors religiously since they have plastic/resistive screens.

EDIT: A work mate has a Nexus One with some generic screen protector. When I fiddle with her phone I get annoyed at how unresponsive the menu keys become, the rest of the screen works fine. It definitely helps her keep smudges off for sure though.

i think its all user choice. yes the screen should not scratch under most conditions, but IMO you never really know. Plus you can get the screen protectors to prevent finger marks/smudges depends on which one you get.

i myself am waiting to receive my clarivue anti glare. Had the anti glare on my hero and i enjoyed it.

I have a Zagg and find it to be sticky @ times esp. when I try to pinch in or out. Got a different kind coming hopefully to will be a little more slippery.

Re: Screen protector question

recommend going to best buy and getting a ghost armor install... actually makes using the touch screen easier and they cover it for life and will replace anytime for install fee of 5 dollars. it is really nice, and self healing so if you scratch it it will heal after so many hours i forgot but like i said its definately necessary. alredy chipped my screen by dropping from a 2 foot distance. protect it. please lol. also i wouldnt recommend ivisishield by zagg people complain the texture sucks and although its good, not the best for touchscreen where ghost armor is.

I would recommend using one but its all user choice.I dont like knowing my phone isnt somewhat protected.I use these screen protectors from radio shack called WriteRight only bad thing about them is they are universal so you have to cut them out. They do not leave the Rubber feel to your screen though they cost around 12 bucks for a pack of 5.

It's up to you whether u want one on your screen or not.....I decided to put one on mine....(can't be too safe)....I have XO-skins and loving it......and one thing i like about using a screen protector on this thing is that the screen doesn't pick up any smudges anymore.....was really annoying to see smudges on my screen..
