Well mine finally came, and it very good. Se it here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT I like it because it grips the windshield really tightly and it is steady as a rock. As you can see there is no gooseneck which I feel would probably vibrate especially over bumps. There is complete up/down & left /right adjustments to get your phone in the best position possible. Once in place there are two big hand screws which lock it in place. They Evo is held in place at the top left and right and at the middle bottom (this also has the device release).

All in all I am very pleased with it and have no compliants (especially considering it was less than $7 with free shipping:-)

This looks good, does it work with a gel case on or would you need to take the case off?

I know want to find a close to flush mount holder that mounts in a power outlet. I have seen some on ebay but they stick out pretty far. I need one that only comes out about 1-1.5 inches...

you guys let me know if you see something like this..

the official htc evo car dock is out, check xdadev accesories sections for the htc evo. some dude already has one, and there is info on how to obtain it in there, looks pretty sick, but its $60.

Yep, the mount is very sturdy, but my phone has been beat up because it keeps falling from the windshield. Not to mention that getting the phone in and out is so difficult that it has actually started removing the finish from my phone. I would absolutely not recommend this mount. It's as if they never actually bothered testing it.

I don't believe it... The guy never actually posted pics and the other person who did post supposedly got a leak from facebook/sprint. The pic he did post look to me like an HD2 mount due to charger port position.

And then I notice all the people say they just ordered it only had 1 or 2 post...

Seems odd to me... I'll believe it when I walk into my local sprint and see it on the shelf...

What I don't understand is what is so hard about them re-designing the HD2 mount to accomodate... Friggin' Sprint/HTC... Hopefully the delay is a good sign that they are building from the ground up some bad@$$ setup for us... Onther good sign is the new Car Dock feature in 2.2...

Soon... I hope!!!

I'm suprised that you liked yours. I like the design and build quality for the most part, but there are some unacceptable fatal flaws: It doesn't stick to the windshield worth a shit and I have dents in my phone to prove it. Also, it grips the phone so tightly that it's taking of the clearcoat on the plastic and putting minor dents in the phone where it makes first contact with the holder.

I almost love it, but there is a thin line between love and hate.

Re: Any word on the car mount?

ProClip finally came out with their mount and phone holder for the Evo. I have used their products for the last 5 years and last 3 phones and they are great. Mount attaches to dash with no screws or adhesives, which will work with any holder they make in case you change phones. The holder attaches to the mount and works and looks great. Just ordered mine today. Here is the link to the site for the Evo holder: http://www.proclipusa.com/default.as...22&d_cat=18252

Your link doesn't work, but I got the email from them announcing it also.

I've used Proclips for my last several devices, going back to my PPC 6700 and have been quite happy. Usually the fit isn't too tight that I've been able to use it even with a thin Seidio case on. Now that this dock is actually powered, I'm not sure how that will work but Seidio doesn't have their dock out yet.
