Computer will not recognize phone at all!

Well I just got a htc evo 3D. I was trying to do the flash but my computer won't recognize the phone, it just charges it. I'm using the USB cable from my htc evo 4g, i don't know if that has anything to do with it.

The USB cable works fine with other phones. I tried putting in debug mode but nothing.

Any suggestions? I'm running out of options...

Its not the cable because it works with 3 different phones.

plus

Have you dialed ##3424#...

UPDATE
I ran the Hboot and on the top of the screen, in highlight pink, it says "LOCKED", You think this might have something to do with the connection?

thanks

OK, here is the pictures of both htc evo 3d I have. The one that is "LOCKED" is a bad esn, and the other is clean ESN.

Does this have anything to do with the phone not being recognize.

here is the the images

Your computer has to have the drivers installed to recognize the phone. This is very frustrating I know! I had this same frustration... Try installing HTC Sync, just up to the point where it installs the drivers. Don't actually use HTC Sync for anything, but see if installing it with those drivers does the trick...
