WiFi tether - no internet access (phone is root)
 

My phone is rooted and flashed to OMJ's must recent ROM. I've got Sprint Hotspot working.

I am also trying WiFi tether to see where I get the best speed, but after I connect with it (connected to my network), I always get "no internet access" (Win 7).

Am I missing something? Thanks.

Try activating encryption

In settings try routing fix first if you haven't

For mine to work, I had to turn on MSS Clamping as well as the Routing Fix in the wifi tether settings. Make sure both of those are checked.

Yeah, a friend of mine has his rooted and he had to do the clamp thing to get his to work.

Okay, now I've tried the routing fix, encryption and MSS Clamping and none of them helped. I still connect to my network, but with no internet access. Any other ideas? Thanks.

May need to try a different version of WiFi tether .. I'm on version 3.1 beta 4 I had tht trouble but it was due to me using the wrong version of an older release .. make sure the options stated above are also checked too.. I'm on omjs ROM too

wifi tether gave me a lot of problems...try Barnacle Wifi Tether...10x better IMO
