Does your voice quality SUCK like mine?
 

About 3 weeks ago I upgraded my TP2 to this Evo 3d. I love the phone itself, but I notice especially on 270 from Olive South to Jefferson Barracks area (255/Telegraph) that the phone voice quality SUCKS.

It doesn't seem to matter what time of day. People say that they can't hear me, it's chooppy, and I can't hear them very well.

I tried swapping the phone and have same results.

ANyone else experiencing similar issues?

Anything we can do about it?

Is the antanea just that much weaker than the TP2?

My evo 3d is the same way..When people talk to me i have a hard time understanding what they say...Im always saying "what" and trying really hard to understand them..This happens alot but not all the time..Never on the 4G

No, my voice quality is excellent, however my call quality on the EVO 3D sucks :)

My call quality on my 4 year old HTC Vogue was superior to this phone. I have people asking me to repeat myself even if I use BT.

Both of them seem really good to me. It only cuts out in the same areas my TP2 did... people haven't complained about hearing me... I hope it doesn't start giving issues.

My recorded mp3 voice mail suck. I think it is encoded in 64 kbps ?? Come on.

Speaker is too weak on the 3D.

Surfing is fast on my 3D and I love it.

i got alot of complaints that people couldnt hear me or that i was breaking up alot. eventually got a replacement and so far so good..no issues what so ever. seems to be running better along with greater battery life.

If you do this and the towers around you or roaming towers don't support the CODEC, you can't make calls at all. Be prepared to change it back. Also, some of the airrave units don't support it either.

Yeah my call quality is horrible when I use the same headset I used with the Evo. People say I sound garbled sometimes, but without the headset its OK.

The reception on this phone is horrible. I must say it's my only complaint and definitely a downgrade from my Evo.

In place where my Evo had acceptable call quality my 3D has choppy and hard to hear calls.

Funny thing is, I have no plans on taking it back. Just goes to show that phone calls are no longer the primary function of a phone.
