I really didn't have any questions about getting it. I played with it in the store and decided not to get it because the only things I could see with the phone is that it is not white, no kickstand, had a faster processor (prob sure for the need for handling the rom and 3d). My contract is up. I just didn't want to get a phone that imo only has a few differences. I'm not bashing the phone or the people that own the phone. Just not for me at this time. To each his/her own.

You wanted help from other forum members to help you rationalize why you should get the phone and your first two objections when you played with it was that it's not white and it doesn't have a kickstand? So far it seems like all the responses say that the evo 3d is awesome. But to each is own, I loved my evo 4g and it will go down as the phone that really was a game changer but the 3d is a huge improvement in every single category and as I sit here playing with my friends evo 4g running a custom vanilla rom its no way near as smooth and crisp as the 3d's stock rom.

No brainer now. Get it. It's officially the best phone on the planet now that we have the backing of our mfg HTC. Great news to end an awesome weekend. #HTCFTW!

Ok I don't see the point of this at all. The only issue you seem to have is the phone is not white, if that is your preference so be it but I believe someone posted the link of another user making theirs white. Your other issues have been answered, htc has a case with a kickstand, I have always felt that a camera on a phone is for play or emergencies during a car accident, need real good pics by a real camera. I have read issues others are having yet I'm lucky to not have had one issue besides we are on Sprint you have 30 days. I've read people have issues take theirs back got a new one and not had another issue. Mass produced phone like anything else mass produce you will get some bad ones. Again instead of the list of things you talked about look at how you use your Evo now get the 3D for 30 days and see if you can do the same things with the 3d that you do with your EVO and then make a decision.

Ok, to clear up the confusion the color nor the kickstand are dealmakers for me.

Considering your request/experience..here is what I suggest..wait till August when HTC will unlock the phone..or untill devs accomplish S-OFF..then get the phone for 30 days and see how it is..within those 30 days there will be other such as Motorola Photon and ETC..by end of 30 days try them all out..see which you like best and stay with it..if you don't like any just return it within that 30 days and wait for the next big thing...

The big question boils down to..what do you use your phone for?

I looked at the phone's specs and I personally do not see much differences between the First Gen evo and the 3D to switch. Of course, this is a newer model. However, I do not believe the very few "upgrades" (if I can even call them that) are worth the switch.

If one must get a new phone, then it's reasonable to get the 3G. Otherwise, I say stick to the original Evo 4G. That's my opinion.

Regarding the OP's original concerns. Based on the issues listed, I see no point for you to get the 3G. Stick with the current Evo.

Haha. Thx Nasa. It's good to be back.

Oh and to the OP. I'm sure it won't be long before we'll be able to buy a white htc back cover to replace the black one.
