As mentioned above, hold down on the screen, select widgets, ALL HT widgets and I believe it is widget 44 for the profile. It switches between slient, vibrate and Ringer on options. Very handy.

Wow, very nice. I tried finding it through settings and ignored it because it said "profile" when I was looking for something with "ring" in it. I should have known, hah.

Thanks for clarifying that. I also found Brightness control which I like.

Re: Best way to put turn on and off ringer?

Are you asking for something other than what the volume buttons on the side do?

When I press volume up, it gets louder... when I press volume down it goes to the last two things displayed are "silent" and then "vibrate".

This is the method I use to control ring / vibrate mode, no need for widgets on that one....
As to the airplane mode: It is now an option if you hold down the power button long enough to bring up the "shut down" menu. Just select "airplane mode". Same method to restore it once you're back on the tarmac.

Re: Best way to put turn on and off ringer?

I'll have to see which method I like better, volume rocker or profile widget to silence ringer. After not having a lot of options on the Pre for 2 years the choices you get with Android are pretty sweet ! =D>

Thank you all. I didnt know about the Profile thing.

I wish there is another option for low ring in that profile widget.

You could always use the volume rocker to turn the ringer volume to it's lowest setting.

It seem like there are many volume setting for the 3D.

There is a multimedia volume?

And the speaker volume?

And the ringer volume?

Thats why I didnt bother the rocker.

Re: Best way to put turn on and off ringer?

Is there a way to get the selections similar to the widget but by using the power button like the airplane mode mentioned? That would be convenient.
