Just got my Phone yesterday but is it my phone speaker or volume on the Evo 3D kind of weak??

Mines louder then my Evo. surprised me when i was messing with the ringtones how loud it was and the volume wasnt even at max

dam mine is at max and not that loud or when watching a movies cant hear it that much other then that I love the phone so far.

My ear piece is loud but my speaker isn't.

Any 1 noticed that music playback and ringtone volume sucks, my wife's transform is much louder, considering take this baby back.

The back speaker seems to suck... it is alright for youtube videos but anything I have recorded I can barely hear on the loudest setting. Including voicemail.

yeah as stated while talking on the phone the earpiece Volume sucks and mines turned all the way up also.

Yes same here, Except im not considering the return. The EVO 4G sucked as well to me.

My earpiece is awsome which is Loud and sounds really good. But my external speaker is weak. It doesn't get very load and it crackles like it's vibrating. It even does this when you turn down the volume.

My first EVO 4G was loud, crisp and clear and that's both earpiece and external. My second one, the external was fine but my earpiece sucked ass and could barely make out what people were saying. My third one, the earpiece was fine and the external blew chunks.

I noticed though that the external speaker on the E3D is much smaller.

My EVO is the same wish the external speaker was louder as well.

Earpiece is good, external sucks testies. On my EVO 4G, external is the shiznit and the external blows bubbles.

Is there a possibility of a volume hack mod once rooted? I'm waiting on root to get this phone but my TP2 with a volume hack is the loudest phone I have ever owned!! And my job demands a loud speaker so I can hear ppl calling me! Weak volume will be a deal breaker for me unfortunately..

My is like yours so low missing calls and in louder than normal work places. This screen is killer thou.

HARD OR SOFTWARE??
 

My question is, do you guys think it is a hardware issue or could it be tweaked with software?
I tried streaming music trough Pandora and that sounded good.
It sounds really bad if you talk 2 somebody and put it on speaker.
If you try to talk 2 somebody while the speaker is maxed out it sounds awful. … it sounds a little better if you turn it down a bit.

I am seriously debating about sending those two 3D’s back….. Bootloader is locked and speakers suck… I am wondering if they just rushed the development of this device…. It has big potential.

v I hope root will come out within 25 days… so we can see what adjustments can be made with software….. Unless the speakers they put into the phone are just low quality.

i searched for volume boosters in the market and found a few... Has anyone found any that actually work on the speaker?

I like the rest of you have noticed and am upset at the terribly weak speaker on this thing.

:scratch: Correct me if I am wrong, but don’t you have to have root to perform system tweaks such as messing with the speaker?

Just tried installing volume+ all it did was force close. Anyone find a fix?

You are right!

The speaker on the 3D is weak. I am disappointed. My TP2 speaker is louder than the 3D.

The ear piece speaker is loud! than my TP2. Hence I dont put it near my ear and less EAR OIL on the screen.

I remember HTC fix the speaker phone to be louder on the TP2. So I am hoping for a fix.

I received email back today. They said speaker is set to max aks to hardware. I the evo has a dack speaker. Evo3d makes no referance to back speaker and has no hole like evo 1 so are we using earpiece for all volume functions

The speaker is located on the back of the phone on the bottom right of the camera. There is a very small hole for the sound to come out.

I for one am so disgusted at the weakness of the speaker that I have called sprint asked for a return kit and have reactivated my evo4g. Along with other things I was not happy with the speaker topped the list.

Come to think of it I remember watching a YouTube video a few weeks where the lady said it had dolby surround. I think it was the lady with glasses on the 40min video must have been a mistake.

Yes, the speark on the 3D is weak. I could barely hear anything on the Navigator voice while driving! Playing movies cant hear so well also.

Perhaps get a bluetooth speaker ???

So this is hardware limit.

Maybe its too cramp already?

my speakers are loud and really clear. you guys do know you can hack it with qpst. the phone is default to level 2 in qpst. i set mine to level 4 max. way louder now. nice and loud and clear for me on level 4.

Speaker running media has been terrible, today I listen to july 3rd sermon and was suprised that speaker was great just like evo4 so speakers are not problem something htc has done.
