Accessories...?
I've heard a few people on these boards talking about the accessories they've ordered ahead of time for their Evo 3D...
Where is good place to go (or to order from) for these accessories? What accessories did YOU order? Case? Screen-Protector? Car charger? What are brand names that you trust, and why? My biggest thing is screen protection. Other than activation, my Evo 4G wasn't touched until I had a full-body protector on it. It goes all around rhe phone. Is there a good protector that I should check out? Brand? I just wanna make sure that I do it right this time. I can't remember what brand this sp was, but it started looking awful after a few months. To be fair, my phone doesn't have a scratch on it...ANYWHERE. |
Re: Accessories...?
I've been using Martin Fields for my TP2 and it's been working well for me. I do think they're a little overpriced, but I got Martin Fields for my last phone (PPC6800) and it was great for that too.
If you wanted to go that route... here... Martin Fields: http://www.martinfields.com/US/index...97767145977671 I might try someone else for the 3D though, just because it was pricy for the TP2. Not sure what else is recommended... still thinking about it. |
Re: Accessories...?
That's a good question OP, I personally want the HTC kickstand battery cover as soon as I get my 3D.

Re: Accessories...?
Will EVO 4g protectors work on the 3D (size exactly the same)?
Any change they will "screw up" the 3d? |
Re: Accessories...?
Screen protectors won't fit "just right" so the basic answer is no.

Re: Accessories...?
I pre-ordered my EVO 3D case w/kickstand from HTCpedia.com They have a lot of different accessories on that site. But you can get basic cases and other things from Amazon.com for really cheap.
Here's the link for the kickstand case HTC EVO 3D Kickstand Case |
Re: Accessories...?
BRIVERS73 posted that Seido has a page for the 3D now that might be worth a look.

Re: Accessories...?
WOW, that is a nice case. I may have to check that one out.
I was actually thinking of buying a cheap rubber bumper for the thing until I could get my habds on that case with the kickstand, but that shell case looks sweet, especially with the belt clip. |

The only thing that worries me about that case is the screen protector. I've had an invisibleSHIELD on my Evo since launch. The shield has been perfecr, and has protected my screen really well. I guess, having never seen a screen protector like that, I worry that if the phone shifts in the case at any point, it could scratch up the screen. Has anyone else ever used a case like this? How does the screen protector work?? |

I'm not sure how the thing would work with a stick on screen protector AND that covering the case has. |

$46....for a case?! I think I'll pass! I could probably buy a new HTC back cover for that much! And I agree, don't like the face cover, I would think dirt would get behind it easily, and also I would think it would affect touchscreen performance. |
Re: Accessories...?
Man... I still don't know what to do as far as accessories go. Last year, when I got my Evo 4G from Radio Shack, I went straight to Best Buy afterward for my case and screen-protector. They seemed extremely overpriced.
I've never ordered anythong online before. I may try this case from Amazon... Impact-Resistant Protective Case for HTC Evo 3D PG86100 Android SmartPhone ** Includes Micro-USB Charge cable and Accessory Bag**:Amazon:Electronics Is anyone else giving this one a shot? Do you think it will hold up well for a month or two? Also, what cord (exactly) do I need to connect the Evo 3D to my HDTV?? |

You can use a regular HDMI cable if you use an adapter with the phone. I don't know but I think the one that's out for the SGSII should work with the EVO 3D since it's the same technology/MHL port. Here is one here: Samsung MHL Micro USB / Micro HDMI Adapter for Galaxy S II #EIA1UHUNBEC - Expansys USA Without the adapter, you'll have to get an MHL cable that connects to the MHL port on the EVO 3D on one end, and plugs into an HDMI port on the other. If the device you're connecting to doesn't support MHL (i.e. is ONLY a regular HDMI port) then the EVO 3D won't charge at the same time it's streaming video (which is one main advantage of the MHL port - charging while also streaming). I haven't found any single MHL cables for sale, probably because MHL still isn't prevalent enough. If you really wanted something right away, take a good look at that adapater. There are other adapters that are supposed to be out as well. |
