Re: Accessories...?

WOW, that is a nice case. I may have to check that one out.

I was actually thinking of buying a cheap rubber bumper for the thing until I could get my habds on that case with the kickstand, but that shell case looks sweet, especially with the belt clip.

I do like the amount of protection it provides. I have to admit...I RARELY use the kickstand on my Evo. I just like having it there. Ya know....just in case.

The only thing that worries me about that case is the screen protector. I've had an invisibleSHIELD on my Evo since launch. The shield has been perfecr, and has protected my screen really well. I guess, having never seen a screen protector like that, I worry that if the phone shifts in the case at any point, it could scratch up the screen. Has anyone else ever used a case like this? How does the screen protector work??

Yea, that was my thought too. Not so much shifting as looking at that case, with the padding it has, it looks to be pretty snug. I just fear dust and other granulars will get in there and as you say, scratch the screen. I had a Seidio case on my TP2 for a long time and it used to collect dirt and stuff under the edged of the frame that really scratched up the screen protector under the frame.

I'm not sure how the thing would work with a stick on screen protector AND that covering the case has.

$46....for a case?! I think I'll pass! I could probably buy a new HTC back cover for that much! And I agree, don't like the face cover, I would think dirt would get behind it easily, and also I would think it would affect touchscreen performance.

Re: Accessories...?

Man... I still don't know what to do as far as accessories go. Last year, when I got my Evo 4G from Radio Shack, I went straight to Best Buy afterward for my case and screen-protector. They seemed extremely overpriced.

I've never ordered anythong online before. I may try this case from Amazon...
Impact-Resistant Protective Case for HTC Evo 3D PG86100 Android SmartPhone ** Includes Micro-USB Charge cable and Accessory Bag**:Amazon:Electronics
Is anyone else giving this one a shot? Do you think it will hold up well for a month or two?

Also, what cord (exactly) do I need to connect the Evo 3D to my HDTV??

The port on the Evo 3D is an MHL port. Using microUSB to charge and for data to a computer will work, but micro-HDMI won't.

You can use a regular HDMI cable if you use an adapter with the phone. I don't know but I think the one that's out for the SGSII should work with the EVO 3D since it's the same technology/MHL port. Here is one here:
Samsung MHL Micro USB / Micro HDMI Adapter for Galaxy S II #EIA1UHUNBEC - Expansys USA

Without the adapter, you'll have to get an MHL cable that connects to the MHL port on the EVO 3D on one end, and plugs into an HDMI port on the other. If the device you're connecting to doesn't support MHL (i.e. is ONLY a regular HDMI port) then the EVO 3D won't charge at the same time it's streaming video (which is one main advantage of the MHL port - charging while also streaming). I haven't found any single MHL cables for sale, probably because MHL still isn't prevalent enough.

If you really wanted something right away, take a good look at that adapater. There are other adapters that are supposed to be out as well.
