Early upgrade, No problem
Got the word from a friend over at XDA those who are eligible for the early upgrade now because its only been a year since we bought our EVOs you can now get eligible for the new EVO 3D by calling this number 1-877-775-4886. That's Sprints retention line, all you have to say is that you upgraded or signed up for the contract knowing that you will be able to upgrade in a year and you went to pre-order your 3D an it says your only eligible for the early. they will change your date an your good to go! My line an my wife line both now can upgrade.

Did you get it switched an taken care of? Yea i am the primary but also got my wife # eligible to upgrade too. A few people i talked to also were able to get their non primary lines eligible too. I guess they made it seem like they were gonna leave. |

I called again to make sure I was the primary, and told her I was working w/ someone in the premier group that would reset my upgrade once I was primary. She said she made my line primary & sent a request to reset my upgrade. It wasn't 15min later, and she called back saying it was done....just b4 she called, I got a text saying my line was eligible for rebate. checked my account online, sure enough I'm good to go.....now I wont have to use the upgrade from another line :D |

Re: Early upgrade, No problem
Is it better to do this during regular business hours? Or doesn't it matter?

Worked here too.. moved up from April next year to now. Saved me about $300. Thanks!

Re: Early upgrade, No problem
Didn't work for me. I'm not scheduled to get my full upgrade discount until 7/1/2012. They said they couldn't change it because I am on an employee referral plus family package. But they did seem to have me on hold a long time trying to find a way to do it. Should I try again tomorrow? Or do I have too many strikes against me?

Re: Early upgrade, No problem

|
Re: Early upgrade, No problem

Re: Early upgrade, No problem
I did not know about this thread, until now.. I did a chat session with them, just explaining that I was one of those premier customers that got affected by the gold/silver change that started on 4-1, and that I felt it was unfiar. She came back and said I was eligible for a upgrade "reset" right now.. she told me to call Telesales and get them to apply it and do a pre order.. well, can't do a pre-order through telesales until 6-21, but, I had the telesales rep confirm I was going to get this Reset, and then asked her to document such on my account, so when I call on the 21st, the new rep won't have to do too much research....
I am very happy with Sprint.. they have always taken care of me.. 5 lines, and Airave, with 27% discount, 4G fee on 3 devices, insurance on 4 devices, and spend about 240/month.. which I fully write off because I run a business.. see any other cell company beat that!!! |
Re: Early upgrade, No problem
Yea honestly i would try again. If it doesnt work the 1st time. An yes Sprint has really shown that they have turned the corner on customer service. I'm happy to hear everyone well 99.9% of the people that are trying this is working out for them.

Re: Early upgrade, No problem
I went to the Sprint store yesterday to pre order my EVO 3D. My rep said that the resets were only valid through the 30th of June. Has anyone else been told this?

Re: Early upgrade, No problem
Had my doubts as to wether this would apply to me. My phone (the primary on my shared plan) was eligible for upgrade about 6months ago...but I have been happy enough with my TP2 that I decided to wait awhile to see what was coming. My wife's line on our account shows as not being eligible until 1/1/12. However, I called this number and they say they are going to change her date making her also able to get the Evo 3d. I pre-ordered the one for me a few days ago and once they call and let me know I can will be pre-ordering my wife's as well.
Very excited to say the least! |

To be honest, I bet if you complain about it to retentions after the 30th, they'll give you your upgrade credit. It's not like they can't go back and check that you were supposed to be eligible lol |
Re: Early upgrade, No problem
Wow.... before this thread i had to wait until April of 2012 for the full discount. I called and got the best Sprint Rep i have ever talked to in 10 years with Sprint. Professional, friendly and good sense of humor. Took about 5 minutes to get a "reset" on my primary account.

Re: Early upgrade, No problem
I called and got 1 through, the other not. The one that went through had another year or so before it was up. The one that didn't go through just used its upgrade in Jan! So that wasn't so bad. I just got off the phone right now and they said I can get the 3d by thursday yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Early upgrade, No problem
OMJ is correct. That is what i was told by the CSR.
"I was under the impression that this was for silver premier customers who lost their upgrade due the the gold/silver split.....and your line needs to be the primary on the account. " |
Re: Early upgrade, No problem
Ok
got both lines upgrade rest thanks to a great rep |
Re: Early upgrade, No problem
soneone on #htc-evo told me the upgrade is only for people who are premier and lost their premier upgrade.... so that's why i only had 1 line "upgraded." Also, when I called back (they called and i missed it) to order the phone, they said they couldn't order it... but did tell me how to do it on line (for premier only) you have to click the link on the home page... it's not under "phones." Did that, and a million more clicks and it's ordered. Sweet!

Re: Early upgrade, No problem
My experience was lengthy but simple.....wife call in about getting her upgrade early (from 11/11 to 6/20/11)....Telesales approved it and sold her an Evo for $149 waived the activation fee and shipping....Also ordered an otterbox case with it on 6/20/11....the phone arrived less than 24 hours later with case.....they sent the Commuter case but wanted the Defender case (she drops her phone alot hince the reason for the early upgade)....called Sprint back to tell them about the case and also asked about the Loyalty $70 Loyalty Credit.....she looked through the account, found what I was talking then transfered me to retentions.....asked the new rep about the Loyalty Credit.....she immediately credited my account no questions asked for both lines a total of $140.....then she told me i can go to any Sprint Store and return the case as long as i had the credit card used and my ID to verify that im the card holder......went to the Sprint Store and exchange the cases for an additional $16....and the only reason she got an Evo and not the Evo 3d was she couldnt wait til Friday...but i will be getting a 3D Friday on my Birthday.....she upgraded from a Htc Hero and we been with Sprint for about 5 years
Thanks for the info about the upgrade (credit info from another thread) because i wouldnt have knew if it wasnt for PPCGeeks =D>=D>=D> |
