NOT WORKING,

my phone will restart when useing gps, or it will lose the gps device not found error.

i have replaced my xtra.bin with the date of oct 20 that is posted here, no go!

any help ?

Before I tried this xtra.bin swap, I had flashed to a different radio and that fixed it... I was able to snag GPS signal repeatedly. Originally I was on the Sprint radio, switching to Verizon fixed my errors. If you check the radio thread stickied in the Diamond upgrade thread you can snag one to try. Still no clue why some things fix for one person but not for someone else.

No, i can not flash my BELL radio.

the reason is that there is no way to falsh it back!

right now radio is version 1.04.02 on BELL radio

the problem is if i flash to any other version i can NOT go back to that radio again!

and im still under warranty and radio flash will void me.

thanks anyway.

any other suggestions?

Maybe take it in to Bell if you're still under warranty and see what they have to say.

ya,

i think that is the best way to do it.

but its not a bell issue.

i have been reading every one is getting gps issues.

so i think its a system issue not a hardware issue, right?

Yes, I do think it's a system issue. But unless some of us start putting it in front of the repair folks, then who knows if they'll have it on their radar. And I just offered that as a suggestion for you since you are unable to flash a different radio. Thus far, the radio or the xtra.bin files are the only things I've seen folks suggest. The other option I suppose is to just wait it out and see if it remedies itself.

I was under the impression that flashing to stock would replace the radio with the original. Since there is a Bell stock ROM in the upgrade forum, this may solve your needs. Course I could be wrong....

Not sure it matters but make sure the date is new on the xtra.bin file(s).

Yup, I've never loaded any 3rd party ROM on the phone - it's always just had the Sprint factory ROM that it came preloaded with.

Check the TP thread, some folks seem to have found a solution (disabling the QuickGPS updates, and replacing some files/folder: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=92926&page=7

I haven't had a chance to do it yet since I'm at work, but I'll give it a whirl this evening.

Someone also mentioned DST changes could be related to the problem - I'm tempted to wait until Sunday and see if the problem will fix itself when the US gets off DST.

I tried today. Doen't work. I am still using the downloaded extra.bin file to have the gps alive for now.

I guess we have the same batch:
ROM version: 1.13.666.7
ROM date: 10/02/08
Radio version: 1.04.02V

I have exactly the same problem. I am using the xtra.bin file right now. so far no problem. I hope HTC will give BELL a hot fix.

Just chiming in with my experience. Running MightyRom 4 Final, with the telus radio and was having the reset problem.

Flashed the altel radio and did nothing else, GPS works fine now.

P.S. I've had about enough of this, I can't wait for the hero to come out.....
