HTC Touch Diamond rom update problems

I hope someone can help me. I have read some posts here and tried to apply some advice to my problem but I am still battling.

Here is my situation. I tried to update the rom but then received an error code 270. Now my phone is stuck on the tri color screen (red, green, blue) and gives the following message "upgrade rom code error please try again" the phone does not boot past this screen.

I have tried two different roms, with same result.

I then tried hardspl but it gives me error 262. I have disabled the usb in active sync. I tried mtty but nothing happens the program stops responding.

I run Windows XP sp 3 on my PC and my service provider is MTN south africa.

Please, does anyone have any advice.
