Sprint Diamond (battery): How many hours of talk time do you get?

Since I purchased my new Diamond two weeks ago, I've read every Diamond battery thread on sprintusers, most on here, and and many threads on xda. I have also done quite a bit to help my Diamond's battery life. However, I still only get about 1.5-2 hours talk time even if I do not use the phone for anything else. :-({|=

Here's everything I have turned off:
wifi, gps, bluetooth, beam, auto back light sensor, data, push email, voice command, weather updates.

Here is what else I have tried:
lowered the backlight. I keep it off most of the time.
used the power saving settings on the Diamond Tweaks cab.
Flashed to a new radio 1.11 (from 1.00)
Done reg edits to reduce battery polling frequency.
Made sure Opera actually exits.
Kill Opera and any other nonessentials on startup using dotFred's task manager.
Tried Sprint Only, Hybrid, forced roaming, and 1X even to no avail.
changed ACCOLC to be 8.
changed the Slot Cycle Index (SCI) to 2.
Underclocked with nuechem's program.

However, with little use besides talking, I still can't get more than an hour and a half or so talking on it.

I have not flashed to a custom Rom like Mighty yet (which I know someone will recommend) but I did take it in to a Sprint Repair Store. They basically just hard reset it & told me a third party application(2) that is draining my battery. One guy there thought was Slide 2 Unlock. I had many cabs, games, apps on the phone but rarely used them (s2u2 and changescreen were the only ones always running.)

Even though the phone is back to factory settings, I'm still having poor battery performance. I wonder if it is the phone or battery or both and if I get a new phone and/or battery if I will have the same problem.

What I really want to know is:

How many hours of talk time do you get on your Diamond?

Also, if you don't talk much, I would think that intense data/cpu usage (texting, pic mail, web browsing, music, games, etc...) would be the equivalent of talking.

So feel free to answer the question that way too.

Yeah battery life for talk time is pretty bad. The custom roms do help a bit tho especially mighty roms. It seems to help with the drain when not using the phone a lot. If u text or talk on the phone a lot its good to have the signal switched to 1x instead of high speed where it switches back and forth. That seems to help too.

Yeah, I've tried the 1x as well as everything I listed in the first post. Even though I use the Diamond, I tried many of the ideas in kabuk1's sig link:

So is it safe to say those who answered 5+ hours in the poll are using a custom Rom which is the main reason for doubling the typical battery's talk time?

About how long will your battery last with little to no talk time?

I don't talk on my phone much but with moderate texting and web browsing I get an easy 2 days out of my battery. That is with email off, beam off, wifi off, bluetooth off, but weather updates every 90 minutes.
I'm also running Winmo 6.5.

Hard to say because it is hard to use my phone without talking! :)

I would guesstimate that I probably get around at least 12 hours standby time with very light use (couple texts, less than 10 minutes of calls).

Overall though, it almost seems that 1 minute of call time equals roughly 1% of battery life for me. A one hour call kills about half my battery.

Wow, so as of this posting, 17 people get less than the official amount of talk time listed on HTC's site:

Talk time: Up to 250 minutes (4.16 hours)
http://www.htc.com/us/product/touchd...ification.html

And only two people get more.

Fyi, Standby time is listed as: Up to 350 hours

Thanks to those who replied to this poll. It helps to know that most Diamond users only get less than 3 hours talk time.

I wish I could get more on mine (I even got a new battery) but I guess unless I switch to a custom ROM, I'll just have to accept the talk time/battery life.

I love the phone otherwise.

Why the reluctance to try a custom rom? Battery life is not the only thing you'll gain... go ahead and try some...
