Sprint Diamond no bluetooth

I admit I could be doing something wrong, though this isn't my first WM phone. I can't get the phone to pair with any of my bluetooth headsets. It just never sees the headsets to finish the pairing.

Setting the phone to discoverable my pc sees it like one out of maybe 5 tries but when you try to connect you don't get any prompts on the phone so the connection fails with the pc. My car sees the phone about the same as my pc but when I set it to pair I never get prompts on the phone so the pairing fails.

I have upgraded to the latest HTC Diamond (sprint) maintenance release thinking maybe it was a rom issue. Can anyone think of something I may be missing? Maybe another rom to try before sending the phone back?
