MerdinH-Black Ezinput Keyboard Version 1.1


Many of you have been asking me for a cab file of my black keyboard, and since this is a better way to share it with people then responding to PM's all the time, hears is my new cab file of the keyboard with version 1.1, now with fixed phone keyboard.

This should stay in the TouchPro/ Diamond section since this keyboard is only VGA compatible

This cab is also uninstallable so you can remove it whenever you want.

WARNING: Please restart your device before you install this cab file.

Version 1.1 updates:
fixed phone keyboard.
fixed first letter from disappearing after enter first word in messaging.
compressed images for smaller size
compressed cab for smaller size.

looks great! thanks a lot for this keyboard. by the way, installed fine and looks and works awesome. I wanted to remind people to Close SIPGT_app.exe with task manager before installing.

Very very nice Merdinh. This keyboard will replace my custom black HD keyboard that in currently in my rom in future builds. Very nice job. Thank you.

looks good. is there anyway to disable that damn options button? it's so annoying to hit that by accident.

Im not sure which button your talking about, is it the Menu button, because there is no option button on the keyboard.

I think he means the button in phonepad below abc/T9.

thank you - i love this keyboard. it was a kitchen option in a rom i cooked and i look forward to upgrading to 1.1. that bug was driving me crazy and i had no idea what was at fault.

I like the layout but what would be nice is to have more of a layout like an actual computer keyboard.

Yea it would be nice, but our screen is too small for it, you would have to use your stylus at all times then.

I was in Groove's thread and he suggested another project that you may be able to do. It was something I was meaning to ask as well. Any chance of doing this layout with the original stock htc diamond sip? the one with larger keys. That would be really nice! Just curious, thanks :)

I hate to tell you, but the disappearing first letter in t9 bug is still present in this version.

Wierd i tested it out after i made the cab, and it did not show up, did you use a oem or install the cab, and can you also confirm it on the cab, if your using the oem.

Yea i can take a look into it. it would depend on the ezinput ill have to look into it, and see if its a easy adjustment.
Can you upload me the oem your talking about for the diamond keyboard.

and yea it would be good in landscape.

I also am still getting the first keystroke to disappear. I used the cab to install it. Still an awesome keyboard though

Hi Merdinh,

Yes I did oem the cab, but it looks like other with the cab install have the same issue. It is improved from your previous version, yet still present.

Attached is the oem for the SIP which rileyd5 is talking about. I already have another oem with the same EZinput version, but black compact qwerty and phonepad which I can upload if that helps at all.

So I installed this and now my phone will boot up say HTC Touch Pro then there is a blank screen and my buttons are lit up. Any idea wut happened and how to fix? thnx in advance

i have a diamond and the exact same thing happend. i did a hard reset to get the phone to boot up again.

Hey guys, You need to do a couple things before you install a new keyboard. The key thing is you need to close a process that's running on the device called sipgt_app.exe. This is mentioned on the first page as well. The best thing to do is to install Fdcsoft Taskmanager, then open it and under processes, close sipgt_app.exe>exit. Then you can install this keyboard and you should have no issues. This is assuming you are using a rom with one of the standard HTC keyboards which would be evident if the sipgt_app.exe process is running. If not, then you should be able to install this keyboard from scratch but there a no guarantees. You can find fdcsoft taskmanager cab on this forum or google it. any problems, Pm me and I will get it to you.

Thanks for those tips!! i went ahead and did those steps, install "completed successfully". but the keyboard is still the original white one, not this black one. am i missing something else?

that is strange. All I can think is you need to go to remove programs, remove the current sip, then do the installation process again. Also make sure you save the sip to the device memory.

i'm running intxROM 1.6 and after installation I can't change the keyboards. I can only make it popup/disappear but when I click on the arrow to change the layot nothing happens so it only stays in QWERTY mode. Any ideas?

P.S: I couldn't find sipgt_app.exe in the processes, but I guess that's because it's not a stock ROM

well it seems that its not compatible with some roms on hear, or um thinking it depends on what keyboard is already on the rom. I would suggest just uninstall the keyboard, and you should be back to your normal one.

Installed this on my phone, the program told me to allow the phone to reboot, I say yes, it reboots into boot screen and is now locked up...


need to hard reset now... :/

it should work, just software reset, and then once everything loads up restart the phone, then install the cab.

Flashed ROM, installed your keyboard, (did my own soft reset, not via program), and it seems to work now
