I'm trying to cut down on the size of the installation and was wondering if I can remove any of the .kdb, .ldb, .kmap.txt files without causing issues? Any clues, hints, or advice would be truly appreciated.

I've noticed the same thing - the keys all work fine in portrait for both ABC and XT9 mode. In landscape it all works fine for ABC, but for XT9 there are problems. On the middle row, s thru l act like you are pushing the letter to the left. and on the bottom row, b does nothing and both n & m act like your pushing the key to the left.

Edit: I've noticed that in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Tegic\eT9\Sip\KdbFiles] 0A19.kdb, 0C19.kdb, and 0D19.kdb are referenced but do not exist in the installation.

To update what I found it seems if you (using the stylus) click left to middle of all those keys then it does as I said above. but if you press on the right side of the buttons then it works correctly. the symbols don't seem to be affected, and its only in XT9 mode and landscape that it messes up anything.

I think with the missing files I am working on the wrong thing. I believe it has to do with the 0C0C.xml file... specifically where it is setting the keys...

the xt9 landscape will always be wrong. the files are not missing they are permanently locked inside another file.(ENlbUN_xt9s.ldb)

in this port the xt9 files which are (WVGA) cannot be corrected, because they are in a permanently locked inside an .ldb (English>>ENlbUN_xt9s.ldb) file they cannot be opened or read. Ive been trying to fix it for 2 months.

Thank you very much for answering my question. I guess you did answer it before but I wasn't sure if those were connected or if you were simply stating why I couldn't find those files.

Would you be able to answer the question about the differences/improvements from 1.5 to 2.0? If not thats cool, I'm just curious.

First of all 2.0 looks alot better than 1.5(that weirdo boxy thingermabobber that came stock)i actully forgot what it looked like untill i looked at it for this post. second 2.0 is more finger friendly. third......well its the "FORBIDDEN FRUIT" latest and greatest (you know we gotta have it). its one step closer to the Diamond 2/Pro 2.there are other internal improvements but heres the just. "FORBIDDEN FRUIT"

is there a way to change the PressAndHoldTimer so you can hold a button less time to do a symbol? i don't see the option in the registry where it usually is.

I've uploaded a newer version. This should allow people to install it overtop of EzInput 1.5. Previously, if you were using a ROM that had EzInput 1.5 cooked in, you couldn't install EzInput 2.0 (it would get stuck at a blank screen after the initial boot screen with red lettering).

it installed fine and the phone booted after a soft reset BUT when i went to select Full QWERTY or even Compact QWERTY, there not even in the list of KB's to choose from!!!!!! What do i do now??? any ideas???? Thanks man!!

Still would like to see bigger keys - we have all that room in landscape mode and the keys are still small. .. and a button or g-sensor to move to landscape mode when desired.

I've been searching round for a large landscape keyboard- preferably some way to make the message go landscape on the fly, wheter it be using the g-sensor or with a button and I wonder why htc didn't write messaging in on the screen rotating thing? - anyway this one seems to me as good as any. It would help me to have a bit bigger keys and it seems there room for it. EZInput shows about 2 lines of text in landscape, could show only one - I think that's what the i-phone does - can always slide the keyboard down if you need to look back in your message.

and -- I greately appreciate the work people do around here!!! I hope my keyboard comments didn't appear like I don't.

Hey bro, he is trying to help the community. It worked great on my phone, it is my main SIP. This isn't even his software, it is leaked and ported from the Diamond2/Touch Pro2. I bet you installed it to your memory card.

Yeah, I don't make any guarantees with my release. It's a big mystery why it works perfectly fine for the majority of users, yet has problems for others. It's impossible to account for every ROM out there, and as hibby said this is just a port of the HTC EzInput software. This port cannot be really any better than their software is to begin with.

I'm using EzInput_2.0.33633 and whenever I am in calendar mode and trying to add an appointment, it will not give me a space bar. It gives me that .com and / button. Is there a way around this? I need the space bar.

I'm pretty sure it was in ABC mode.

Someone else here that could test this for me? Open up Calendar and make a new appointment and tell me if it gives you a spacebar at the bottom of the keyboard when you try to type in the subject... or if it just gives you a .com and / button.

Thank you for testing that for me.

It's a bummer because this EzInput 2.0 is so much more responsive and has much better key placement. But I guess I'll have to use the older versions since I rely on the calender quite a bit and having messages like "take/cat/to/humane/society/and/trade/it/in/for/dog" just isn't that appealing (well... for more reasons than one).

Is there a registry edit that might fix this so the right keyboard comes up in calendar?

I really like this keyboard, but a few issues (mostly known, but would love for it to be fixed)
I really really liked the 348550 build but I couldn't stand having my hardware keyboard (Touch Pro on Sprint) "broken" (ie, the FN, shift, and SYM keys don't work). I really liked how you could choose in the SIP chooser which keyboard you wanted (compact/full), and how it changed automatically depending on the context.

I switched to the 33633 build to get my hardware keyboard to work (which at least the FN and shift keys do...SYM doesn't seem to work at all on the ROM I'm using, though FN-SYM will open the web browser, so I know the key at least "works"). I don't like the layout as much as I did on the 345550 build, but I suppose I can live with it. But unfortunately I also have the problem when entering calendar appointments where there is no space bar. Also, I would love the functionality to be able to switch between the keyboards in the SIP chooser again.

I really hope a new version comes out that is like 348550, but works on the Touch Pro/Fuze.
