Re: Kessler's Dialer Skins - [Updated-June/14/09]

I have a Sprint Diamond with the stock 2.00 ROM.
I just downloaded the Blue Dialer and it looks great BUT I could not use most of the data programs on the phone and when I tried to do so a couple of times, my phone froze and I would have to soft reset my Diamond.
This went on for over a half hour.
I would try to access bookmarks from Opera and I could not.
I did access my task manager and saw that shell32.exe was using 8kb? memory for a few seconds then it would drop to 0 if that helps.
But even when I would try to access my Task manager a second time, my device slowed down and froze.
I finally used clearRAM and it cleared out about 22mb. I also used ClearTemp.
After I cleaned up the device, my Diamond worked fine.
These issues never appeared before and am curious to what you think may have occurred.
My device had run fine up until the download even when memory was being used prior to a clean up similar to what I did to get my Diamond to work.
Great look btw regarding the Blue Dialer and I have Thanked you for your hard work

EDIT:
I checked shell32.exe and it's cpu usage is less than 1.
I don't know if that has anything to do with the issues I was having before.

Coincidence. Read the first post you'll see that the only thing the installer does is replace two BMP image files. It doesn't touch the registry or anything else. Thanks for the compliment too

Re: Kessler's Dialer Skins - [Updated-June/14/09]

Was really weird regarding the timing of the issue.
I will download another skin and see what happens.

Re: Kessler's Dialer Skins - [Updated-June/14/09]

I just downloaded the Black Dialer and did a soft reset. I had the same issues as before regarding the slowdowns, freezes and inability to use programs.
I soft reset 3 times and I also removed the battery.
My Diamond started to work again.
When I used cleanRAM and ClearTemp, I continued to have the issues so it appears that it was coincidence that my Diamond started to work after cleaning out the memory as stated in my previous post.
So to conclude, my Diamond worked fine prior to downloading the Blue
Dialer and after downloading, I experienced multiple issues.
Those issues resolved after some time and the Diamond worked fine up until I downloaded the Black Dialer as a test to see if the issues appeared again. The exact same issues did appear as previously stated and then resolved.
I don't know why these issues occurred but it does appear that the issues are related to the Dialers I downloaded.
I am pretty meticulous when it comes to issues such as these and would be happy to assist you in trying to figure out what is happening.
As a sidenote, I use Magicall which is a call blocking program and worked with the developer to resolve a couple of issues that were occurring. He created a Debug program and was able to see where the problems were and he was able to resolve the issues.

UPDATE:
I switched back to the Blue then to the Green then to the Blue Dialer again and the same issues occurred then resolved.
I tried to see what was making the issues resolve to on avail.
I thought it was ClearTemp or multiple soft resets but they don't appear to resolve the issues. I removed the battery but that does not seem to be the answer either.
It appears that after the phone is idle awhile that the issues resolve although I reset and removed the battery multiple times prior to the Diamond being idle.
I will just leave the Dialer the way it is now which is Blue.

Re: Kessler's Dialer Skins - [Updated-June/14/09]

Nice work Kessler. I like to use white dialers since I think they are easier to see in sunlight and your new one is much better than the stock HTC one. I did remove the red from it so that is looks as pictured below. I've attached the 2 .bmp's that go in the /windows directory if anyone would like them.

***I hope you don't mind Kessler. If you want them removed, just PM me.

Re: Kessler's Dialer Skins - [Updated-June/14/09]

No problem, that was actually an oversight on my part when I made the skin. I'm slightly colour blind so I didn't notice it until I enlarged it a LOT.
