First T9 Suggested word is gibberish

I have spent a couple days looking for this solution, but have not found one so far.

Does anyone know how to remove the first suggested word when using T9. The first word is the fist letter in each key that is pressed when in phone keypad and compact QWERTY. Example:

When typing the word: hello
You get gdjjm

This gibberish is taking up one of the suggested spots, and I would love to know how to remove it.

I know some custom ROMs have figured out how to fix this issue, but I like the ROM I am running now.

navigate to the windows folder, and find the et9mywords.exe, and make a shortcut for it in the start menu -> programs dir, and then you can edit your t9 words. you might have that stored int here for some reason. another thing is to go into the options from the onscreen keyboard, and click options again, and tisable turn on one touch symbol entry...

good advice, on the touch pro if you hit fn T9 it allows you to edit and delete your words. I would imagine there has got to be something similar on the diamond but I don't own one so im not sure.

the et9mywords is the same program that you can bring up by hitting the function key and the space bar on the touch pro. there's just no visible link to it on the diamond. i installed the larger diamond keyboard on my pro and had to do this because that function key no longer works.

Thanks for pointing out the et9mywords utility, but thats not actually the problem I am experiencing.

I probably should have been more clear. The first t9 suggestion (above the keyboard in a black bar) is always showing the first letter of every key I press as the first suggested word. The second suggestion, is usually the word I want. The fist word is gennerally gibberish.

Example: If I type: test (in phone keypad) the first letters of each key I pressed are "tdpt" t is key 8, e is key 3 (but the first letter on 3 is d) s is key 7 (but the first letter on 7 is p) and finally t is key 8.

I am currently running the groove ROM, but I saw this on the last leaked Sprint ROM as well.

you could try reinstalling the keyboard from a cab and see if that fixes it... thats what i would do anyways.

if you dont use t9 or just dont want to see that box this cab will remove it...

Thanks for the suggestion, but I use T9 all the time. I just want to remove the first suggested word, since it is useless.

doubt it is your issue...or that you're this blind....but i know that if you type gibberish by accident using T9 (forget a space, wrong button press etc) then that gibberish will sometimes be added to your T9 library...again probably not your problem but I'm guessing the only way to maybe fix your issue is if you could find out where your T9 library is and edit those words out
