Avi and other codecs for diamond

I love watching shows fully. I was wondering... maybe its a dumbass question... but does the diamond have the codecs to view avi, mpeg, .mov and other video formats? while displaying video at great framerate and audio perfectly?

Unfortunately it doesn't play everything, but TCPMP does. I have attached it for you (I believe it's the right file). Let us know how it works for you.

What files does it play?

It plays all major file types.

Install it, and try it. If you don't like it, just uninstall.

EDIT: Just installed and runs great. read my avi files perfectly except it was a bit laggy. but thast due to the video size and resolution. any one know which are the best settings for TCPMP so it wont lag this much? besides converting the video files?

Im going off memory here, but within the menu's there is a section called "file associations". Check off whichever file types you want it to open by default, and it will.

Im not sure which settings are the best, but just go into the video settings and try different ones out until you get one that works well. Video's played great when I used to use it, but I do remember having to fiddle with the video settings first.

Anyways, glad it worked out for ya.

related... I know the Diamond has an integrated youtube program... But sometimes the buffering takes way too long? I remember on the mogul i could watch Youtube videos through TCPMP through a special cab taht added FLV ability. Does it work for the diamond as well?

The built in youtube player takes a long time to buffer because chances are it is downloading in "High Quality" Or "Auto Select" mode. Go into settings (the top right icon), and select "Fast Download". The buffer time will be super fast, but the videos will look like when you used to view them on the mogul (not high quality).
