Avi and other codecs for diamond
I love watching shows fully. I was wondering... maybe its a dumbass question... but does the diamond have the codecs to view avi, mpeg, .mov and other video formats? while displaying video at great framerate and audio perfectly?

Unfortunately it doesn't play everything, but TCPMP does. I have attached it for you (I believe it's the right file). Let us know how it works for you.

Re: Avi and other codecs for diamond
What files does it play?
|
Re: Avi and other codecs for diamond
It plays all major file types.
Install it, and try it. If you don't like it, just uninstall. |
Re: Avi and other codecs for diamond
thank you senor. i shall try it out and post my results.
EDIT: Just installed and runs great. read my avi files perfectly except it was a bit laggy. but thast due to the video size and resolution. any one know which are the best settings for TCPMP so it wont lag this much? besides converting the video files? |
Re: Avi and other codecs for diamond
sorry to thread jack, but is there a way to make that program default video player as well?

Im not sure which settings are the best, but just go into the video settings and try different ones out until you get one that works well. Video's played great when I used to use it, but I do remember having to fiddle with the video settings first. Anyways, glad it worked out for ya. |

Re: Avi and other codecs for diamond
I convert everything to DivX, then use the DivX mobile (http://www.divx.com/mobile/) and SmartMovie Converter (http://www.lonelycatgames.com/?app=smartmovie).
I have had no issues what so ever. |

hmm the thing that i wanna avoid is all that converting. i was looking to simply drag and drop the episodes lol |
Re: Avi and other codecs for diamond
I own well over 500 titles on DVD and rop my own stuff for myself (Diamond and Ipod) and my kids (Ipod and Ipod Touch). For my Diamond I always rip the movies with Divx Pro and then use the Divx mobile player, as bridic suggested. I have yet to have any of my own videos give me any kind of playback issues.
