Re: Best Bluetooth Stereo Headsets

I saw these 2009 Jaybird Claws on Engadget today. They look pretty hot, and are targeted at athletes:

Re: Best Bluetooth Stereo Headsets

The new Jaybirds listed above look like they do everything that I'd like and might be worth the wait. My Plantronics Pulsar 590E arrived from Amazon today and were defective - they would not go into pairing mode. These are going back to Amazon and my search for a decent bluetooth stereo solution goes on.

Re: Best Bluetooth Stereo Headsets

Plantronic Pulsar 590 are amazing.... Deep bass... clear sound... and not too heavy..

I use them when jogging and working out... Might want to give them a try again

Re: Best Bluetooth Stereo Headsets

Plantronics Tech Support was outstanding. I called them and explained the problem with the defective Pulsar 590E and a replacement unit will be in my hands in 3-5 days. I decided to work with them instead of Amazon.

It doesn't sound like you plan to keep trying on these, but for anyone else that's intererested, I have a pair. They have decent sound quality - really good on the stereo music and so-so on the phone functions IMO. They are reasonably, but not super comfortable. The one major disadvantage to them is it looks like you have a separate bluetooth device in each ear - I've had so many people (including several total strangers) why I'm wearing two bluetooths or ask if each is connected to a separate cell phone! It's kinda embarrassing and makes me feel like a dork.

Re: Best Bluetooth Stereo Headsets

I received a replacement Plantronics Pulsar 590E stereo headset a few days ago (after my original order from Amazon was DOA) and found it to be a great headset. The sound is great for Bluetooth, the headset is far more comfortable that any behind-the-head set that I've tried. Battery life has been great and they stay on while running and exercising.

Re: Best Bluetooth Stereo Headsets

I just paired my 590's to my windows media center and was super impressed that the sound was not only excellent, but the controls worked to control the media center as well... Now I can watch TV at night when my wife goes to bed early without her turning the volume down to nil.

Re: Best Bluetooth Stereo Headsets

I've been eyeing these but target is the only B&M store that carries them. Jaybird jb200

Cnet gives them a pretty good review only thing bad they have to say is the lows are pretty weak.

+1 on the motorola S9. I use while running or working in the shop, controls music player on the phone, and answers phone calls. I never have to touch my phone once they are on.

I have to also agree that the S9 does a great job...for my needs anyway.
